This very thorough FAQ was put together by Impulse, and all information in it has been verified by me.
Q: "I can't figure out how to talk to people! What do I do?"
A: A simple click of the mouse on the said stick person will allow you
to talk to them. The clicking feature also applies to other things
such as playing casino games.
Q: "I can't seem to make the most of my day. How can I make it so I
have more time in each day?"
A: "The CD Alarm Clock at the Pawn Shop ($200) and the caffeine pills
from the Convenience Store ($45 each) will increase the time you are
allowed to play in each day. With both of these items in use, you will
get the absolute most out of your day (or, in other words, a
completely white clock when you wake up after taking a nap).
Q: "How and where can I use the knife?"
A: The knife can be purchased (once) at the Convenience Store. It
increases damage done in bar fights. It is automatically used, which
also means it is put into effect as soon as you purchase it. For more
information, check your 'inventory' screen located on the top right
corner of your screen and drag your cursor over the knife image.
Q: "I can't find the gun."
A: The gun is located at the Pawn Shop (across the street from
the Casino).
Q: "I found the gun, but I don't know how to use it. How can I use it,
and what purpose does it serve?"
A: After purchasing the gun from the Pawn Shop, you will need
ammunition. Ammunition can be obtained by leaving the store after
buying the gun, and then re-entering anytime afterwards. Upon
purchasing ammunition, you can use it to rob multiple stores by
clicking the gun icon marked "Rob the place". If you see this icon in
a store, it can be robbed.
Q: "I get caught every time I try and rob a store. How can I avoid this?"
A: Robbing is based on the luck factor. Fortunately, your chances of
failing to rob stores can be reduced by increasing your charm.
Although this is true, it would be a wise idea to have charm in the
triple digits before attempting. Remember: The more charm you have,
the likelihood of being caught by the police for robbing a store is
decreased.
Q: "Where can I get this, 'charm'?"
A: Charm can be attained by drinking beer at the Bar (the building the
orange stick is laying against) and smoking. Alternatives are available once certain houses are purchased.
Q: "Where can I buy a new house?"
A: Real estate can be bought from the Bank. The more expensive the
real estate, the more is available at the furniture store upon buying.
Q: "I looked into the Bank and deposited some money into my account.
The next day, the amount went up. Why is this?"
A: As in real life, but at a much faster pace in StickRPG*C*, interest
is gained by letting the bank hold onto your money. The longer you
have it in the bank, the more you will generate overtime. Of course,
sometimes the interest levels will drop to zero and you will not gain
anything on that given day. Fortunately and unfortunately, the luck
factor also plays a part in the Bank.
Q: "What do I get if I give this kid smokes? Where can I get smokes?"
A: The smokes can be found and purchased at the Convenience Store
which is located across the street from McSticks. After giving the kid
the smokes, you will get a nice little gift which will improve the
speed of your stick figure. This little item can be used by holding
the 'shift' key found on your keyboard. What is the gift? That's for
you to discover.
Q: "I killed the kid by giving him too many smokes. I checked my
messages in my apartment and the man said to make sure I had a lawyer. What do I do?"
A: Nice find! No need to worry, though, as the message is simply a joke.
Q: "Since the smokes killed the kid, will they kill me?"
A: Yes, the smokes can kill you. They reduce your HP level (noted in
the 'inventory' screen in the game) a given amount. Be sure to check
your HP gauge normally in all cases to make sure you aren't at risk of
dying. Saving (which can be performed when the option located in your
apartment is clicked) before doing key tasks is another way to be
extra safe.
Q: "Is there any benefit of smoking?"
A: Unlike when done in real life, smoking DOES have benefits in
StickRPG*C*. Upon each use, you will gain one charm stat. Again,
smoking reduces your HP level significantly, so keep a close watch of
it and do the math to see if it will kill you after each use.
Q: "I'm afraid I may die. Is there a way heighten my health gauge?"
A: Your health gauge can be heightened by working out at the
University of Stick (located on the right side of the map, across the
street from the Bus Depot), getting into bar fights (a more
significant increase, although it puts you at risk of dying), and by
using the items bought from the furniture store (across the street
from your apartment) which are sometimes available after purchasing
certain real estate.
Q: "At the University of Stick, I can study and work out, but I can't
go to class. Why?"
A: You can't go to class because you don't have $20 on hand. Each time
you 'Go to Class', time is consumed (as in other events) and 20
dollars is reduced from your total amount on hand. Fortunately, you
will get TWO intelligence points instead of the regular ONE (for
studying) by Going to Class. Develop strategies to find out which
course of action is best at given times.
Q: "What is this car next to my apartment building, and why do I keep
failing to hotwire it?"
A: This car can only be hotwired when a large amount of intelligence
is reached. If you keep failing, increase your 'intelligence' stat
until you successfully hotwire it.
Q: "I have finally hotwired the car next to my apartment! I can't
figure out how to use it, though. How do I drive the car?"
A: You can drive the car by clicking the 'C' key located on your
keyboard. When pressed, an engine sound will go off and you will be in
your car. This increased your speed. You will have to press 'C' again
you enter buildings, though.
Q: "Can I work a better job than a McSticks employee?"
A: Yes, you can. You will need to enter the building marked "New
Lines" which is located East of your apartment to get a promotion,
though. To get a promotion, click the 'Ask for a Promotion' option
while in that building.
Q: "It won't let me get the job I want. It says I need more
'intelligence'. Where can I get this 'intelligence'?
A: Intelligence can be attained at the University of Stick (across the
street from the Bus Depot).
Q: "I have the intelligence required for the job I wanted to get. Why
am I still working the same job as before?"
A: This is so because you need to select the 'Ask for a Promotion'
option once you have enough 'intelligence' stat. When you don't have
enough intelligence for the next promotion, you will be informed how
much you need for it by clicking the 'Ask for a Promotion' option at
the "New Lines" building. This said, head on over to the University of
Stick and get studying (or get to class)!
Q: "What is the cocaine the guy between the Convenience Store and Pawn Shop selling good for?"
A: "The cocaine is a commodity. It can be put into use by buying the
appropriate items at the Pawn Shop ($200) and heading over to the Bus Depot.
Q: "When I select to 'sell commodities' at a given area in the Bus
Depot, it doesn't do anything. Why is this?"
A: This can be due to a number of things. You will need to have an
entire day (a full white clock) to sell commodities, so head over to
the Pawn Shop and buy the CD Alarm Clock. However, this will not make
your clock completely white. It will only increase the amount of time
you have by a GIVEN AMOUNT. To have a FULL day of time everyday, make sure you have the CD Alarm Clock from the Pawn Shop and one purchase of Caffeine Pills from the Convenience Store everyday to make your day FULL. When a full day is accomplished, you will have the ability to sell commodities at the Bus Depot. Still not working? Make sure you
have the money amount on hand that each area that you want to sell
commodities at calls for.
Q: "I can never sell commodities without getting beat up by girl
scouts, having my items and stash stolen away from squirrels. This is
only a few things that happen to me among other things. Why am I never
able to sell commodities?"
A: Selling commodities is a timely process, but it will eventually pay
off. Make sure you have a very large amount of 'muscle' stat, for one.
Q: "Okay, I got rid of being mugged, but it seems as if I'm only
wasting my time at the Bus Depot because no one is ever there for me
to sell commodities to. Should I just give up hope?"
A: No - What you need is 'charm'; A lot of it. Charm adds
to your luck, and when at greater amounts, you will have greater
chances of finding someone to sell to at the Bus Depot.
Q: "I get caught by the cops every single time I sell commodities at
the Bus Depot. Why?"
A: You should never have more than an amount of 50 commodities on
hand at once. This includes each commodity. (check descriptions in
your 'inventory' screen to make sure you have a proper amount of commodities before attempting to deal) At such high amounts, police
attention is attained.
Q: "My stick figure is turning colours! What is this all about?"
A: This is because your 'karma' is increasing (or decreasing). When
your stick turns lighter blue, it means your karma is increasing. As
it turns darker purple, it means it is decreasing. When your stick
turns white, you have reached a level of full karma. When you turn
completely red, you have reached a level of no karma at all. There are
benefits for being fully white (or red), but I'll leave we'll leave
that to you to find out!
Q: "What purpose do drunken darts serve?"
A: The drunken darts at the Bar serve no purpose whatsoever. They are
simply a game for your entertainment. Bragging rights can be attained
by posting your scores in marked topics in the XGenStudios forum,
though!
Q: "What are, if any, the secrets and codes?"
A: Sorry, but this is a spoiler-free walkthrough. Discovering the
codes and secrets by yourself is usually more of an accomplishment, so
we'll leave the finding to you.
