I don't smoke!!

Ok so here is a very dumb and embarassing thing that happened to me yesterday, any advices would be appreciated.

Yesterday my dad put his smokes in the wrong backpack, in mine. So there i am in the middle of the class taking out a book from my backpack when the pack of Cigarettes fall down from it!

And then the whole class starts asking me "Do you smoke?"

I answer always the same thing "no i don't, these were there by accident".

But my class, 70% of it more precisely are total morons, so there they start telling "you smoke you smoke!" and they start telling it to everybody.

Now usually i would just tell them to beat it, but smokers have a very bad reputation in my school, mainly because people tell them since they are 5 that smoking is bad and that smokers are idiots who will die at 30 years old.

1 day after people already start acting weird around me. Almost like i was an instable madman! And even the teachers are looking at me all weird now. My Girlfriend just called me to tell me that she will not go with me anywhere this week-end cuz she has to study, which is really weird since all tests are over this Friday...

Now i have 3 years left to spend in this school, and i don't want to have the reputation of a smoker since i'm not one! And the end of year is near so they will go on vacation with this idea in their heads and when i come back in gr. 9 it will be even worse.

Any suggestions on how to get out of this embarassing situation fast?

Well you've got two choices I can think of:

1) Start smoking

2) Just keep doing what you've been doing

I'd recommend choice numer two, but it is your decision to make.

If nobody sees you smoking, you don't smell like cigarette smoke, and you don't have the weird, nervous habits smokers have when they haven't lit up in awhile, then you'll be fine. Rumors work like shockwaves and diffuse and disappear just as quickly.

Did they ever see you smoke?
Can they prove that you ever smoked?
Show them how bright your teeth are.
Can they prove your story is fake?

Ignore them.
Why should your girlfriend believe that you smoke without finding out herself by asking you? Can you really consider her your girlfriend if she just believes rumors?

If your girlfriend listens to rumors rather than confront you about it, she's a prententious ##### who needs to have some sense brutally beaten into her.

Just ignore the people, it'll blow over eventually.

But your school alienates smokers? Win. We need more schools like that here.

2) to smoke
3) smoking's not bad
4) you've never smoked
5) you'll never smoke again
6) to prove that you smoke
7) that the jig is up and you smoke
or
8) the truth... Your dad smokes and put cigarettes in your backpack...
or MY favorite
9) you'll commit suicide if they don't stop acting weird around you...
But the choice is yours... 9 would be funny to me since it's the dumbest choice, but 8 would be more beneficial...

Prove it to them by smoking a cigarette in front of them. Your violent gagging, coughing and retching should prove to them that you've never smoked in your life.

I think that may be the most brilliant solution I've ever thought of.

Ignore it. Getting a reaction is what they're looking for. If you absolutely have to talk about it, something along the lines of "Yes, and I'm sleeping with married women and twelve year olds, too" is your best bet.

There's a long shot between 1 cigarette and a being a smoker. You're not gonna get hooked on 1 cigarette.

Let this be a lesson to you.

Don't treat smokers like the public enemy. Now you know what it feels like- somewhat.

Your not getting yelled at while your outside smoking. You arn't getting things thrown at you. You arn't getting your smokes stolen and broken. You arn't being screamed after "DIRTY SMOKER" everywhere you go.

Sounds like you have it allright. You arn't a smoker- by next year, everyone will have forgotten about it. People are just being retarded- they'll get over themselves. But don't for one second think that real smokers don't get treated 100X worse on a daily basis.

Take this as a lesson of respect.

But let me tell you the irony about all this-

All those dumbasses giving you a hard time? Most of them are going to start smoking. MARK MY WORD. I remember once, when I first started smoking at school, I heard a girl dissing smokers every which way.

Six months later, she runs up to me in the street, nicking out hardcore, begging me for a smoke.

Don't take it seriously.

Edit: You live in Quebec? Oh yeah. Everyones going to start within the next year or so. I find that funny that you are getting that reaction in Quebec- thats where I started smoking, its much more acceptable there than Ontario.

Errmmm yea well i have the perfect solution to your problem, and you'll probablly end up coming out better.

Well the thing is smokers usually get ADDICTED to cigarettes so quiting can be quiet hard. So just say this:
That was my last packet, i havnt bought any more and ive decided to quit.

Problem solved they will just think you used to smoke. They may ask you how many youve had in that day, but just say non and act like your proud of it.

Summary
Pretend you smoke and just say your quiting or have quit.
