I'm new
Ive heard people talk of Xcash. What is it, what can you do with it, how do you get it and is it worth anything in the real world?
Probly not worth anything but thought I'd ask

Back in 2003, before I joined, it was used to buy stuff. Due to the problems with the forums, xcash no longer exists.
Read some old articles to find out anything else, and it is worthless outside this forum.

Most forums have their own system of currency. For xgen, it just so happens to be "xcash". There was a point when you could use it to buy certain extra items, such as a nicer looking name (or a new name all together), for a large sum of xcash. You could also store it in a bank, which gained interest, or buy a ticket in the local lottery. In addition to the official purchases, you could host contests and give xcash as a prize or sell signatures and avatars for a sum of xcash. Last year, the shop (where you bought things), bank and like features were removed, along with the xcash. After a long time, xcash was brought back into circulation, but had no official value. It remained until about two weeks ago, when there was a problem which resulted in the second removal of xcash. Along with xcash went the ability of avatars to appear next to your posts. Most are visible in member profiles, though some are not. Some signatures aslo do not work with the current forums. Without xcash, the contest forum (near bottom of index) has not been posted in for quite some time, as there is no prize.

Read when the last post was made. If it seems a long time, don't post in it. If the last post seemed to "kill" the thread, don't post in it. If the last post involved something that you either cannot or should not answer due to a lack of involvement or knowledge, don't post in it.
