Is the halo series overated????

Yes,definantaly yes,IMO all it did was take the frag fest style fps and simplifyed it and made the multiplayer addictive,I geuss I just think that it didnt do anyhting new...

IMO HL2=best fps ever/best game ever (the pc version)

Multiplayer Halo is overrated, but single player Halo has some of the best AI I have ever seen in a FPS.

Yeah, it is overated. The first one had a good storyline, nice multiplayer, AI was pretty smart. However, Halo 2 in IMO ruined the storyline. However the multiplayer got even more addicting, along with the new weapons.

However.... I'm probally gonna get Halo 3 to hopefully see Master Chief take his helmet off...

I must admit the halo is very addicting and yet Overrated. Halo was better in Single player than is Halo 2 because the storyline was straight. But yet in Halo 2 the storyline got curved like a " Keep right " Road.

The thing about Halo was that it was the first GOOD fps for consoles since Goldeneye. Most things before Halo sucked balls. It set a new standard for console fps.

Once they had the controls, they set off to make the best multiplayer of a console fps with Halo 2. Easily one of the most in depth online experience on the XBox.

Now I personaly think the story is horrible. Good basic idea, but horrible follow through. The AI is definatly good, but it's not anything special. HL2's AI was far better. It also didn't bring many new gameplay ideas to the table either. I guess being able to jack someone's ride is pretty new for an fps, but that's all I can think of in terms of gameplay.

Now, I haven't played the Halo 3 beta yet, so they might actually be bringing something new. But even if it doesn't, the game is a massive train and there's no way you can derail it. When it comes EVERYONE with a 360 will buy it reguardless of how good it is.

Not a good story, they didn't even say why they were at war in the first halo. But the pure playability is good, the controls are not complicated and its very free in its movement. It's highly re playable. Running people over is just plain fun.

the story was way out, they never stated whether or not the covenant was actually pushed back or destroyed, but since of 2&3, i guess not. the AI is good, i dont think its overrated, its just extreemly popular. the multiplayer does get more addicting in 2 than 1. the vehicles and weapons in 3 r kool too. i dont think anyhtings wrong with halo,2,3, except the stories are wack. they never stated how the covenant came to be, and what planet they came from, if they are related to humans, or what theyre mission was. humans only think of war, so they thought the covenant wanted total destruction. i think otherwise. its prabably a communications problem.

Well, I have the PC version, and I uh... never play it.

I've played it with a friend on his Xbox, and it's fun. It's a very solid multiplayer experience for consoles. It gets too many stupid votes as "best game ever" from people who haven't played many games, but it's still solid.
