As an owner of both, the PSP 100%.
DS > PSP. Easily.
I want my handheld playing games, not music or videos. Also, PSP games suck.

Honestly, I'd rather have:
N64
GBA
SNES
NES
Pong
Solitaire
Billiards
Music
Internet
Wireless Keyboard
Paint
Free Games
Custom Backgrounds, Icons, etc.
Analog stick
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Plus DS games have no replayability... Nintendogs gets real old real fast (Walk + Frisby + Baths + Food... Fun  ) Plus Super Mario 64 DS is the worst game I have ever played in my entire life. OH I KNOW! LETS MAKE YOU YOSHI AND CHASE BUNNY RABBITS!!!! Please...

I luv how you don't actually play PSP games on your PSP. you play games from everything else.

You wanna know why there are not many good games coming out for PSP? Cause the dev's know a lot of people like you illegally download PSP games. I know a handful of people who got caught and if they did it again, they would be in massive trouble.

I do plan on buying the games I like, but I don't wanna pay $40 for a game I hate. And I have gotten some of those (GTA: LCS, Burnout: Legends, NBA 07)

See, I need a question for this. Which one do I have or which one do I want to have. The answer differs.

Massive generalization anyone? Two games != The rest of the slew.
Trauma Center
Final Fantasy III
Pokemon
New Super Mario Brothers
Mario Kart
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
WarioWare: Touched
All those games I played through at least three times before selling them again.
Don't tell me there's no replayability

I played New Super Mario Brothers, its terrible. Mario Kart is just a bunch of the old games courses put together. I can play the old pokemons, which are better. Trauma Center, such a stupid concept I wouldnt play it if it were free. Never played FF or Castle. Warioware looked like it would be fun for a while, but not last.
I also had a Madden game (06 I think) which was just plain crappy. Plus I had Mario & Luigi Partners in time, terrible plot, I can play the first one which was much better. I also had james bond which was ####ty.
Plus I really hate the touchpad. Its ok for mini-games and #### but try to hold the DS puch all the buttons and use the touchpad is a load of crap. And yes games forced you to do that.
But in all honesty, if you're happy with you're DS, go for it... I know I was happy with it until I actually got a PSP (I lost my DS ><)

I played New Super Mario Brothers, its terrible.
I found it to be about the same as most super mario brother games.
Mario Kart is just a bunch of the old games courses put together.
But I don't have to lug around my console and TV to play them anymore, that's the point. And they pulled it off better than Diddy Kong racing (That piece of garbage)
I can play the old pokemons, which are better.
I would settle for them being the same, although with the amount of detail put into the newest ones they surpass the old ones (I skipped most everything between the original two and now). Just going off of the fact that you now get running shoes and two speeds on the bike is heaven sent to me, I no longer have to be forced to use my really slow walk indoors and only one annoying speed outdoors.
Trauma Center, such a stupid concept I wouldnt play it if it were free.
Stupid concept? Performing surgery by actually using your hands and not a mouse is stupid? What world are you from? Whether or not you like the game the concept of bringing us closer to the actual experience of something is never stupid, which trauma center did. To make the incision I have to be able to follow the straight line, not merely hold down up and left
Never played FF or Castle. Warioware looked like it would be fun for a while, but not last.
FF is FF, it will almost always be worthwhile. Warioware is the filler between games when I don't want to start somethign hours long but merely kill 10 to 20 minutes.
I also had a Madden game (06 I think) which was just plain crappy. Plus I had Mario & Luigi Partners in time, terrible plot, I can play the first one which was much better. I also had james bond which was ####ty.
I avoid sports games of any sort. Mario&Luigi looked good but I always bought somethign else. And since Goldeneye James Bond has been on a downward spiral
Plus I really hate the touchpad. Its ok for mini-games and #### but try to hold the DS puch all the buttons and use the touchpad is a load of crap. And yes games forced you to do that.
The bad games did, but most either focus solely on the touch pad (Animal Crossing, or FF:Chocobo Tales) or used it when convenient (navigating menus, thigns like that)
But in all honesty, if you're happy with you're DS, go for it... I know I was happy with it until I actually got a PSP (I lost my DS ><)
Meh, used my friends psp, acted way too much like a computer for my tastes. I want my hand held easy to use. to use another game simply hit the power button pop out the game and put another in, not go back to home turn off (not just sleep apparently) and then put in the new game. My only beef is the lack of backwards compatibility with anything earlier than GBA.

I found it to be about the same as most super mario brother games.
I didn't like the new-nintendo feel (GCN and Wii, its been very, I'll put this nicely, "quirky")
But I don't have to lug around my console and TV to play them anymore, that's the point.
The point of emulators...
I would settle for them being the same, although with the amount of detail put into the newest ones they surpass the old ones (I skipped most everything between the original two and now). I'm not really a fan of Pokemon, I just meant that you can have it on PSP too ;)

It is a stupid concept becuase drawing a line a suegery does not make. Plus I really don't find that to be any fun, irregardless of its realism.
FF is FF, it will almost always be worthwhile. Warioware is the filler between games when I don't want to start somethign hours long but merely kill 10 to 20 minutes.
I've never played any FF they just don't appeal to me. Plus $40 is not what I want to spend on "ok" games (Yay ISOs).
I avoid sports games of any sort.
Sports games on PSP are pretty good actually.
Mario&Luigi looked good but I always bought somethign else.
Good move.
And since Goldeneye James Bond has been on a downward spiral
I know, I was just pointing out another bad DS game.
The bad games did, but most either focus solely on the touch pad (Animal Crossing, or FF:Chocobo Tales) or used it when convenient (navigating menus, thigns like that)
I still found it to be extremely annoying and much more trouble than its worth.
Meh, used my friends psp, acted way too much like a computer for my tastes.
Sorry if it does things... :P
I want my hand held easy to use. To use another game simply hit the power button pop out the game and put another in, not go back to home turn off (not just sleep apparently) and then put in the new game.
To go from one game to another you:
1. Take out game (without hitting anything)
2. Insert new game (again no button pushin)
3. Hit Yes (The 'Home' Screen automatically comes up
4. Hit UMD
It took 13 seconds...
My only beef is the lack of backwards compatibility with anything earlier than GBA.
I can emulate:
Amiga 500
Amstrad CPC
Apple II
Atari
BBC Micro computer
Capcom Play System 1
Capcom Play System 2
Chip 8
ColecoVision
Commodore 64
Gameboy & Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advance
HitBit
HP48
Intellivision
Macintosh
MAME
MGT Sam Coupé
MSX
Neo Geo
Nintendo 64
Nintendo NES
Odyssey
PC-8801
PC-9801
PlayStation
PSP
ScummVM
Sega Gamegear & Master System
Sega Genesis Megadrive
Super Nintendo SNES
Thomson T07-70
TI-92
Turbo Grafx 16 & PC Engine
Vectrex
Wonderswan
X86
ZX Spectrum
ZX81 Sinclair
I have no clue what 60% of those are but... :P
Plus there is the analog nub :) I really hope the DS is the last handheld released with out one.
PS: This is fun :P I love a good debat :)

The point of emulators...
But that would be a cause to void any warranty I believe
I'm not really a fan of Pokemon, I just meant that you can have it on PSP too ;)
Warranties again
It is a stupid concept becuase drawing a line a suegery does not make. Plus I really don't find that to be any fun, irregardless of its realism.
It's far closer than buttons. It was more the fact that you have to move your hands to the different place and concentrate on your dexterity that drew me to it.
I've never played any FF they just don't appeal to me. Plus $40 is not what I want to spend on "ok" games (Yay ISOs).
You only spend $40 if you suck at bargain hunting (and have low patience)
Sports games on PSP are pretty good actually.
They were annoying enough of a full fledged console. A hand held is not going to improve them
Good move.
I got sucked in by Metroid, I'll get it and enjoy it just to prove you wrong
I know, I was just pointing out another bad DS game.
Don't make me point out bad PSP games
I still found it to be extremely annoying and much more trouble than its worth.
I found it to be much more preferable to have a scroll bar with a tab I could pull to any point I wanted rather than having to sit and wait through the first 3/4 of the list to scroll by
Sorry if it does things... :P
Crashing, locking up. I don't like those things
To go from one game to another you:
1. Take out game (without hitting anything)
2. Insert new game (again no button pushin)
3. Hit Yes (The 'Home' Screen automatically comes up
4. Hit UMD
I did. It froze.
It took 13 seconds...
15 mins to figure what the frak had happened
I can emulate:
<insert ridiculously long list here>
I have no clue what 60% of those are but... :P
I usually prefer to stay within the realm of legality
Plus there is the analog nub :) I really hope the DS is the last handheld released with out one.
If you don't mind never being able to move directly forward while trying to cross that straight ledge.

Warranty sucks to begin with. And if you delete it, who's to know?

Obviously there are cheaper ones or used ones, but I mean like brand new when they first come out.
They were annoying enough of a full fledged console. A hand held is not going to improve them
Well I'm saying that PSP Sports Games > DS Sports games.
Crashing, locking up. I don't like those things
It's never crashed or locked up (Although it has semi-bricked quite a few times from me messing around with Flash0 (PSP internal files) thank you Recovery Mode :))
I got sucked in by Metroid, I'll get it and enjoy it just to prove you wrong
Hey it's your money, and your gaming. If you like fruity sequels be my guest.
I did. It froze.
Maybe his PSP has downs... >_>
I usually prefer to stay within the realm of legality
All 100% legal if you own the games you emulate, or delete them within 24 hours.
If you don't mind never being able to move directly forward while trying to cross that straight ledge.

Warranty sucks to begin with. And if you delete it, who's to know?
Delete the warranty?
It still doesn't look very fun.
I'd say don't knock it till you've tried it, but I tell people who tell me that to go try suicide
Obviously there are cheaper ones or used ones, but I mean like brand new when they first come out.
I intentionally join in on gaming things much later solely because of the ease on my wallet.
Hey it's your money, and your gaming. If you like fruity sequels be my guest.
Everyone needs a dose of fruity now and then >_>
Maybe his PSP has downs... >_>
No it was made with the proper number of chromosomes
All 100% legal if you own the games you emulate, or delete them within 24 hours.
And I'm sure you follow that don't you?
What?
One of the main reasons I prefer a keyboard/mouse combo over a controller is because when I have to use an analog stick I never go solely in one direction. I always end up drifting off to a side. Doesn't happen with D-pads or keyboards.

Yea, Loco Roco... With DS its non-stop fruity.
No it was made with the proper number of chromosomes
I did it just now and it worked perfect.
And I'm sure you follow that don't you?
Actually yea. The N64 games I have on my psp are Beatle Adventure Racing!, Super Mario 64, and Mario Kart 64. And on GBA I have Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

I never said eliminate the D-Pad
God damn, I just say a PSP Blender ad on the top... that website pisses me off. They make you pay for freeware.

I have a harry potter ad. curious given the content of the page.
But what it boils down to is they are truly even given a broad range of criticisms. It comes down to the fine details that sway you one way or the other. Like good graphics and a lot of perihperals? PSP for you. Like innovative designs and somewhat less adult games. DS all the way

I know. But if Sony would pull its head out of its ass and allow homebrew and/or listen to consumers PSP sales would go through the roof.
Sony is standing on top of a buried treasure chest and refuses to dig.
