The best Burnout game?

I want to buy one of the Burnout games for the Playstation 2. I recently read that the latest one is not as good as the other ones...So which one should I buy?


Or perhaps there is another game like Burnout..but better?

I haven't played as many as the others.

The single player is pretty deep, it has a lot of different modes (for example, there's a mode that you have to create as much destruction as you can, so time your approach right, and try to bounce off 20 cars).

Multi-player is also a blast, I haven't played the others as much, but crashing into other cars always seems to register right. Gameplay is a lot of skill, but I suck horribly at it, and there's always a way to make it up (there is a slight elastic band effect).

Vertical takedowns are always nice, too.

My friend has Burnout 3, and it's insanely fun. I'm sure that if he posted here, he would recommend it.

I've heard from other people in my dorm that it's the best in the series too.

Burnout 3: Takedown

B:3 is the same as revenge, but Revenge has some new stuff, so it has more stuff, but it isn't as fun.

I would have to say Burnout 3 since of how I rocked at road rage when I was listening to "I want to be sedated" by the Ramones.

I like B3 better than Revenge because the insanely easy traffic check takedowns took out alot of the challenge. I liked it when it took skill to avoid traffic rather than just ram into it.
