Although I do own some of their music I completely agree. I don't know about that being the best album though, for one, I've never even heard it. So y'know, if it was that great and all I'd probably of heard it.

You can't really judge a Opera Rock album agaisnt Heavy Metal, Punk, etc. since they are, basically, completely different. Rock is a genre that has many different branches, some of them being the ones I mentioned earlier. You can chose the best albums/artists/songs for the different branches, but you can't jump boundaries from one branch to another, saying that one song/artist/album is better than the other, since your music taste differs from my music taste, and so on and so forth.
What I'm basically trying to say is that The Who, eventhough being one of the best artists and one of the few "music entrepeneurs" left, are not the best, neither is their album, simply because there can be no best.

Essentialy, that is all Rock Opera is. Rock with that tells a story and generally has some sort of a plot in the lyrics.
