I am going on a holiday to the states, LA, New York, Florida, Los Vagas, Florida but I was wondering what is there to do.

I need to tell the folks what attractions I want to see so we can tell our holiday planner person.

We are going to the Tonight show with Conan O'Brien already. So yeah.. I need to know some stuff that I can do. XD

Holy crap, that's one hell of a Holiday, I envy you.

LA - DISNEYLAND
NY - Never been
FL - Kerry's house?
Vegas - Unless you really are 30 years old, you wont be able to enjoy Vegas as much as your parents. If I was in Vegas, and I had the money, I'd go to a UFC fight. Gawd that would be cool.

Wait, are you going to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno? or Late Night with Conan O'Brien?

you kind of jumbled both shows together there.

And if you're over 20, go see NASA when you're in Florida. Don't bother with the theme parks. They just don't have the same appeal when you're older, at least not for me. NASA would totally rock though, don't pass that up.

LA: La Brea Tar pits, there's a couple interesting museums around, cruise the city in general. (Keep in mind, the air isn't so pure around here.)

In NY theres a little plae called the museum of freaks. Its small, like classrom sized, and is more of a private colection than anything else, but it's mindblowing. The guy has a living two headed box tortise that he keeps in a tank, as well as the preserved body of a two headed pig. He has assorted sets of rings from giants and a signed photo of tom thumb and thumbilina.

Its crazy, other cool stuff there too. It costs like 15 bucks a person.

NASA was cool; I had a family member work there for a bit and we got to go on some 'insider' tours. Make sure you see the massive assembly building (which is actually just one room!).

I'd suggest just driving around a bit outside of the main cities. Stop for whatever you see that you'd like or want to look at. There's a heck of a lot more to see in the States than what the corporations and cities will show you.

Late night with Conan O'Brien***

I think I would get on the show being Australian and all, A little 'moment with the Audience' type thing. I will post the date that I will be going there so make sure you watch!

UFC fight sounds very interesting, I'll look into that.

That's one awesome holiday. I wish I was going to the states... or anywhere outside of the UK for once.

Stupid not having enough money to go abroad.

My parents (especially my mother) just don't think they could handle the flight time. At least, that's their excuse. I know the real reason, and it is much darker.

We go on holiday a lot though. Outisde Europe (Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Cuba (Yes I know that cuba flight time is longer than florida's), Malta etc).

That's a pretty fricken good holiday you got there, STBFM.

New York -

You definitely want to go into Times Square. IT is a great place for tourist. Little Italy is the place for food, and Canal St. is kind of like a market, being that you can buy stolen goods there (like a gucci belt I bought for $20) and nobody really cares... It's about 10 blocks of street shops.

The statue of liberty is alright, but not worth climbing, trust me. Ellis Island is much more interesting. Make sure to take a ride on the Ferry, you can see the entire skyline of New York that way.

For nightlife, go to DNA. Give them my name and you can pretty much do whatever you want all night.

If you happen to take a trip to Staten Island, give me a call. We will go and party somewhere.

I'm sure his parents will be happy to let him go alone to "party" with some older guy he met over the internet.

When you're in New York, make sure you swing past the Hammacher Schlemmer store on East 57th and Lexington. It's like the ultimate nerd store. You can buy a freakin' hovercraft!

You'll love it.

Try Universal Studios as well, if you can.

How big? Once for christmas (years ago) I got a little remote control hovercraft.. It's awesome, it can go on any surface (except maybe lava).

If you are into theme parks, you will love Florida. Aside from that, though, nothing much to do here. I suppose NASA and the Kennedy Space Center would probably be appealing to the average Xgenner, but definatly not I.

They have both one and two person models. About the size of a Mini Cooper. It was like, $38,000. But still, significantly awesome.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I hadn't even thought of Disneyland or Universal Studios.

Well, when you live in a state as tiny as Maryland, it's hard to go anywhere without going to another state.

So I guess it depends on where you are. If you were in one of the big states like Texas or California, I could see a lot less 'state-hopping' than in the mid-Atlantic where the states are all small.

You lucky ####! I only ever go on holidays in Europe, and I'm pretty much bored of it. I've only been out of Europe once and that was to China and I don't remember anything about it!

Maryland still kicks ass. We have one of the most deadly cities in the nation. >.>

That's because you can cap someone, and flee to Delaware before the cops find out.

I mean, who's going to look for you in Delaware?

By the time you make it to Delaware just keep driving another 10 minutes and you'll be in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

Back on topic, make sure you check out NASA in Florida, Times Square in New York like Dom said, and do whatever in the other places. Florida does have good theme parks and this time of the year they will be empty-ish (there's always a decent crowd).

Make sure you have fun, and if you have a British accent people will love you. Hands down love you for no reason beyond the accent. Just stay away from South Carolina and you'll be good :)

Dunno why, but, yeah..

Justin

Not really. Except maybe in Banff. There aren't any real Canadians in Banff anymore. You run across the occasional Brit at Universities, but that's about it.

A british accent in America? Yeah, you'd probably get laid. However, a Canadian accent? You might as well stay right aboots in your own country.

Only newfies say 'aboot'. They're like the creoles of Canada.

Everyone likes British accents in America. Everyone, everywhere. Girls go crazy over them too.

British > French > Australian > American > Canadian

As far as white people go, at least.
