....maybe.
I'm having surgery tomorrow, getting a bone transplant and my wisdom teeth taken out. So, if I don't show up anytime soon, I'm dead. Right now...I'm staying relaxed if ya know what I mean, and I've got some recovery to do the next few days. Check ya later, peeps.

Neither of those are fun. Good luck.
Just hope they don't leave a scalpel in you.

Bone transplant.... do you mean a bone marrow transplant?
If you do, sucks to be you. There's like a 10% mortality rate on that.

I never had a bone transplant, but the wisdom teeth part really isnt bad at all.
The bad part comes the week after when sedative wears off and you're desperatly popping Tylenols hoping the pain would go away.
Have fun. =]

I'll eat you last, Mr.Anderson.
Nah, just a bone transplant to get bone to grow where the bacteria ate it away.
Ah well...
You've probably got a better chance of dying on the way to the hospital than you have getting the surgery.
There's some heartfelt comment buried in there..... somewhere....

There's always a chance he'll get one of those surgeons who...leave...unwanted things in their patients

last thing you want to find out is that the surgeon left a used condom in your leg.

What's the matter with your bones?
As I posted earlier, bacteria killed my bone so it's gone so then we haveto put an implant in there so bone will grow back.

Mention something about your great lawyer to the surgeons before operating, and you'll be fine.

Don't know about bone transplants though. Hope it all goes well.

Obviously you could. If by mistake, instead of making an incision on his leg they shot him in the heart.

Infection? (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/infection)
And as a result of that, amputation (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Amputation), which isn't dying, granted, but it still sucks.

Still not dying. I heard if a broken piece of bone marrow gets into your blood stream you could die but thats incredibly unlikley.

If he gets an infection and they don't amputate, he'll die.

As long you have a clean docter and room infections can be almost entirely avoided. and most hospitals seem clean now a days.

Uh, no, infections can happen after the surgery is complete too.

So I am guessing he is in the hospital now? Man, if I where in his position I would request that a computer with internet be plugged into my brain so when I am on the operating table I can post and stuff. I am leet like that.
Yeah, good luck, and all that.

Not for good ol' Reid. He'll be taking his pain killer /smoked/.

K, I'm back and still alive.
I woke up mid operation though, which was not fun. I'm not sure how it happened as I still had some effect from the sedative. Basically, I knew I was awake and I was trying to make every effort to get them to put me back to sleep. I could feel them messing around with my teeth so I started talking to them and moving around alot. It worked, the doctor told me he was giving me more meds (I don't think he really did). But I managed alright.
The pain meds don't really relieve all the pain, but for now I've got pudding and jell-o to help me out on that one :D
Oh, and smoking's a no go as I can't suck or else I could get dry sockets.
Thanks for all your well-wishes though, guys.

Eh, I have no idea what wisdom teeth are, I just know they hurt like hell. They are the 4 last teeth that grow in (or attempt to). They usually develop and start to poke through around ages 16-18, and nearly everyone at that time has them removed to prevent damage being done to your gums, jaw, and other teeth.
The actual surgery itself is not painful, it is just the next couple days of soreness that suck.

When does one know that he/she has to have the teeth removed? How does one find out?

The dentist will tell you when you get routine xrays or whatever. It's not something you have to notice yourself.

When does one know that he/she has to have the teeth removed? How does one find out?If you think it's urgent you can schedule an appointment, I believe. But most people have there wisdom teeth "checkups" set up by their regular dentists at their semi-annual trips to the dentistry. The next time you get X-Ray'd by a dentist and they think the teeth may need to come out, they'll tell you just what to do.

I've had 7 teeth removed. None of them wisdom teeth, but still painful. None in recent years, all when I was little kid. Between the pain, the injections, the bleeding, the drooling, the numb lip, and the ice, getting teeth pulled is not fun. No experience with bone stuff though...

I got a tooth pulled because the tooth, and the gum around it got infected. Not fun.
