Update on Chicken Jockey pending

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm currently in the stages of planning an update for Chicken Jockey.

I programmed the game on my laptop, and a day after it was released, my laptop died. My code is still on the laptop hard drive, and I've been trying all weekend to get it from there. I purchased a laptop hard drive enclosure (to plug the hard drive into my PC) and its not letting me install the driver...I'm just praying that my drive didn't get destroyed too.

Once I get the code, I'll be updating the game by fixing the bug where chickens are sometimes changing on people and adding a couple of features. Namely, allowing you to play Virtual Fox Attack just for fun (no benefits for your chicken) for free, possibly lowering the price of V.F.A., adding a new way to relax your chicken (most likely a spa treatment or something) and a few other minor fixes.

Since your making an update maybe think about lowering the time for a chicken to reach 1 year? 30 minutes is a long time especially when your limited to 10 chickens.

Good point. I'll cut the maturing time in half.

Great. Sounds good. Cut the maturing time, but once your chicken hits year one keep the thirty minutes. I don't want my chickens to die faster, but maturing to a chick would be better faster. And now I've confused myself.

Could you make less skills and only like 3 of each that affect fighting and racing? im getting confused lol.

and there is a bug where it freezes in the pit fighting building if you press on the "ok" button instead of the "Continue" button (I think thats the bug) haha, thanks lots if you can manage to fix that too.

Yep, I'm aware of the freezing bug. It has to do with the other continue button. It'll take 10 seconds to fix. :)

Any word on the hard drive? I can't get into this game when my elite super chickens keep being replaced with birds that should be sold to KFC. :lol:

I bought an external enclosure for my laptop hard drive, but when I plug the USB into my computer, it says that there was a problem installing this device, and in device manager, the error is that the device could not start. I tried it on two other PCs and the same thing happened. I'm starting to fear the worst, but I'm going to another store today to try and find an actual IDE cable that converts 44 pin to 40 pin. Maybe if I can directly connect the drive to the motherboard, I may be able to get the file.

I should know by this afternoon...stay tuned.

you got me lost. all i know is your talking all this technical crqp and u sound really smart. but i agree with kory_r6, eradicating that bug would be a major thing to do, because its a pain in the rear.

Good news guys! Got the files off the hard drive and they are now safely on my PC, and also backed up on a CD. :) Bug fixes are commencing now.
