well, i don't do drugs either, but i know some people, and it doesn't seem that they are dying or anything, but they don't really do anything. They just sit around and get stoned.But I have heard of someone i know who died while smoking pot and driving.

in theory the gov could control, but that's really hard. How you can control "how much"?The gangs would stop dealing MARIJUANA, the real bad stuff would continue, so the death drop wouldn't be that high.The "rebel" people you know are probably so addicted to it that they wouldn't stop just beacuse it is legal, but they could look for another thing that is ilegal, that would make things worse.......

the only thing that could be good is the money the gov could make in taxes, but it's still not worthy........too many disadvantages, too few advantages.....

Umm...anyways, back on the original question so I can finally throw my two cents in here...

I don't see how there can be any argument here as to whether or not marijuana is bad for you -- it is. Not only does it affect your memory, it also does more damage to your lungs than a cigarette ever will. It causes brain damage like any smoke would, because when you breath in the smoke, you are lowering the amount of oxygen that gets into your bloodstream -- oxygen which is needed to keep your organs alive.

Other problems arise with use as well. Most everyone I know that smokes pot is also a drinker. They enjoy getting 'blitzed' (high and drunk at the same time). Doing both things at the same time can make people feel very sick, and further decreases their ability to function.

And the fact that pot messes with folks' attention span and depth perception is also hazardous. Ready for a true story? I used to know this girl named Katie. One night, she and one of her friends were high, and possibly drunk. They decided that they wanted to cross a local freeway, and she got hit by a car. She died. We all know that no one in their right conscience would put themself into that situation, so how can anyone justify saying that it's not the pot, it's what the people do while they're high? That statement is only half true. In any circumstance, most of what happens is what's based on what someone decides to do. But people wouldn't decide that they need to take unneccessary risks or put themselves into situations where they or others can get hurt if it weren't for the pot.

You know what though, if you're gonna do pot, just eat it. Make some brownies. The onset takes a lot longer but the effects are with you for 3 to 4 hours, much longer peak, and no badness for your lungs. It's actually the safest way to use pot. It has no effect on your system whatsoever, aside from maybe feeling nausea if you eat too fast.

I have personally been smoking pot sence my parents died (4 years ago) and I still maintain a 4.0 or higher. I still have a job...And im still the smartest person you know...The only thing pot is good for in calming people down. You can die of pot, but thats only if you smoke 3-5 joints a day for 50 years. You can do stupid things while on pot, but those stupid things are funny as hell when your high. Those stupid things dont involve burning houses down or anything, more illegal then pot. Some people do drink while high, and they do die...Then again those people deserve darwin arwards anyways....

i never took a test because i'm not curious to know how dumb i am, i actually don't believe very much on iq tests, i'm not sure if they do really "measure" someone's inteligency.........

You don't die from smoking pot. It makes you lazy. The only possible way you are going to die on pot is if your house catches on fire while making munchies. Pot is less addictive in nature than ciggerettes. Pot is a naturally occuring substance. Tobacco is as well but pot isn't treated with tar and chemicals before it's smoked.

Those are just the first few points that come to mind on the subject.

And btw I smoke ciggerettes. I quit pot in highschool.
