Passport question.

In April I am going on a trip to Costa Rica with the school. I know that I have to get a passport but it is cheaper to get a passport when you are 15 than 16. I am currently 15 but I will be 16 when i go on the trip. So if i get it when i'm 15 will it still be valid even when i'm 16?
