I need to send mail to USA from Canada...

I need to send a letter to the US while liveing in Canada. Now I am not quite sure how I should go about doing it, I know that if I put my mail in one of those big boxes that indicate having something to do with mail it will get to were it has to go (assumeing I put the correct info on it), but do I need to put stamps on it, and how much stamps, or how much dolalrs worth of stamps do I need to put on the envelope when putting it into one of the big mail boxes if I am sending it to Wisonson USA. Well I think it is Wisconson, the abbreviation is WV, am I correct in my abbreviation knowledge?

So what I need to know:

1) How much dollars worth of stamps do I need to put on the envelope if I am putting it into the big mail box outside, if I am sending it to the USA from Canada?

2)Does WV stand for Wisconson?

3)Does the price vary sending it to diffrent states in the US? (Farther = more, or same price?)

I would ask that you give me an answer that you are sure of, I need this letter to be sent by Sunday, and if I put the incorrect amount of stamps, it wil not get sent, I think...

From wat i know; if u mailing from a different country to the US, then u have to use ur country's stamps. You only use the US stamp if u are living in the US, or mailing from the US to the other countries. The price of the US stamp is 39 cents for all 50 states. So, u might need to check at ur local post office for how many stamps are needed to send over to the US.

Your local post office should be able to tell and help you out. My mum used to run an english post office, and she was trained to remember what it costs to ship what where.
