View Full Version : I have a couple of habits that I do want to get rid of.

1. I want to stop twitching. The twitching is only in my legs. People look at me funny (maybe thinking I'm disabled or something <_<) and I try not to garner attention. It usually happens in school after an hour or so. I believe it's Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), or something like that.

2. Try not to do anything really stupid in the school year. I'm used to making all of these bird noises and jokes in my school that pissed off the teachers.

I can't think of more right now.

But, I have tons of friends and I make fun of people. I want to not do it in class.

Self control FTW.

Your mind controls your body. Not the other way around.

1. Tie your legs to the chair

2. Only you can stop that. Stop being so dumb, and act like a normal human being.

There isn't anything wrong with your leg twitching. People at my school do it and it helps them think.
There is also nothing wrong with bird noises as I meow in school. If you are trying to get rid it of it though I would try replacing it with snapping your fingers or chewing gum.

Actually you might very well have tourettes syndrome if you can't help making those noises. But in any case there is something worng with that. It can be disruptive and prevent other people from learning.

Well making bird noises and meowing isn't exactly the height of intelligence is it?

Are you implying I have never been to school?

People who make complete nonces out of themselves in class are looked down upon by everyone else. You can have fun without resorting to being downright stupid.

What a crappy school you go to. I bet your school could learn a thing or two about fun.

So if I leave school I will be grown up?
-drops out-
I guess I'm all grown up now.
Be serious. Just because you may be out of school doesn't mean you are "grown up".

Mostly, it might take your brain 40 years to realize you wasted half your life. Grow up.............

Normal people do not find enjoyment in making random noises. You need to grow a brain.

I think he's just not portaying his point very well:

You go to school to learn, and making random noises in class isn't funny unless you're still in middleschool. You shouldn't be randomly meowing during class because it isn't funny unless you haven't grown up some in the past few years.

That's what I meant to say. I just said it in a more offensive tone :)

Number one is fine. In a lot of my classes, almost everyone does it. I looked down a row of people and everyone was just tapping their leg up and down. It's normal. It's not distracting people from their work anyway...

Number two is kind of strange... I knew a kid who made wind noises whenever a window was open to annoy everyone. He wasn't that pleasant. You'll have to concentrate a lot. Just think "I will not make bird noises." or something like that.

1. That's what it's called...? Wow, my leg twitches too (Sometime's). Yeah, go see a doctor.

2. Make up new joke's or try to think about something else instead of making bird calls or jokes nobody laughs at.

I am in middle school. :)

If you are trying to get rid it of it though I would try replacing it with snapping your fingers or chewing gum.

I can't chew gum in my school. And I found out a way to forcefully move my finger out of my posable finger space and making a snapping like sound, so I can do it over and over; hundreds of times. (I need to stop this as well.)

Actually you might very well have tourettes syndrome if you can't help making those noises. But in any case there is something worng with that. It can be disruptive and prevent other people from learning.

I can stop it, but it sounds funny and makes other people laugh. I stopped doing it as of late...but I have been taking a pen and hitting it against a book (not hard) and that stopped me (in summer school)..

I make new jokes all the time. They just flow into my head.

1.) The leg twitching thing may just be a nervous habit.

2.) Everybody makes noises, just try to keep em low. I am obsessed with tapping my thumbnail against my front two teeth, mainly because of a song going on in my head. Also, I make quacking noises inside my mouth, but I keep em low.

a nervous habit or a nervous tic doesn't mean you are nervous it just means you need to do something. It doesn't mean you feel nervous.

I find it towards my advantage to be wierd.

You certainly won't later on

1. RLS is a sleep disorder. Many people I know do twitch their legs during the day when sitting. Now, if this prevents you from sleeping, go see a good doctor.

2. You'll grow out if it. Hopefully.

then you might be in need of some sort of stimulant. Assuming you have a case of ADHD.

I doubt you had a full, and happy childhood. I am sure adults do not make random noises, but just becuase adults don't, doesn't mean that kids don't. Its just part of life. And if I remember correctly, whenever I made a random noise, I got half the class to laugh. Of course it doesn't mean I am mentally ill, it just means I am living my childhood to my fullest. Now that my childhood is almost up, I certianly do not make those noises anymore, but I can remember them as being part of my childhood. Thats my two cents for the day, Z

:l

I don't have ADHD, ADD, or any of those things. I'm just almost always bored and want to do something else.

Oh yeah, my back's messed up. Is that a problem with twitching?
