Welcome to XGen.

Advice: Don't repeatedly promote FireFox after five people have repeatedly told you to stop; it can make you less popular.

Actually it is http://www.getfirefox.com

I have no idea why they bothered getting a commercial domain name that is a redirect, but hey. http://www.mozilla.org is the Mozilla home page.

Sam
11-28-2004, 01:36 PM
Firefox.

It is a browser.. Better than Internet Explorer.

And yes, you are right JoeyG. I thought it was org..

Weird though, since the main page is .org..

Meh.

FireFox is a web browser designed to fix the 18,000 security flaws in IE. So far it has done a wonderful job, has a better download manager, and gives faster surfing.

18,000 is a comic exaggeration. Do not hold me to it.

dont listen
the only reason they dont like IE is because they dont know that clicking ads and downloading thigs can have viruses and will screw up IE

so they dont like it cause its their fault

So why not use something where that's not even a problem?

I don't use Firefox much myself. I use Safari (standard Mac browser).

IE does have some serious security issues, like ways to change the address bar to display an address different from where you actually are.

its not a problem if you dont take care of it

Okay, I will calmly respond to that. Average morons, by which I mean people who that actually applies to, use IE. This is because they are too ignorant to even realize that there are alternatives. By using FireFox, and promoting it, we will actually lower the amount of morons using computers. Also, FireFox does not have anything to do with Windows, which means that should it crash, it won't take the OS with it. New features such as tabbed browsing and popup blocking make it far superior.

I am fighting to keep my fist at my side, and not bash my skull in by reading the pro-IE claims in this topic.

Uh oh, my fist just won.

Wow, that sounds like the best thing to do. I tried calmly responding to that, but my fist was shaking. I was tempted to write something like 'You deserve to be shot for that', but that wouldn't have been professional of me. Perhaps it would've given firefox users a bad name.

So you must come out and call all IE users morons? I mean, the most of us don't really care. I believe you have already given Firefox users a bad name by acting unprofessional.

*gets firefox*

No, I said that all morons use IE, not that all IE users are moron. There is a difference. There are plenty of smart people using IE for whatever reason, and they have found ways to avoid spyware and such.

Hey hey, lets stop all this stereotyping here. One or a few firefox/IE users don't represent the masses of them.

Sam

In my opinion, IE is like AOL for people who are too good for 56k.

For instance, I know of one person who uses IE and types in perfect English.

Hey! I can type in perfect English too!
Watch me.
See?
I'm doing it!

And no, I use AOL cause I'm too good for crappy Firefox, which sucks.

I use IE because I really don't care. Honestly, I've never really tried anything else, and I don't really want. I know how to use IE, and I prefer to stick with it.

Sam
11-29-2004, 02:45 PM
It actually isn't that bad..

Tabbed browsing.. download manager (so if IE crashes.. like it always does, then you can resume downloads.)

Hell, you can even crash IE by veiwing images now..
