Need help with "original game" (i think)

yeh i need help i have an idea for a game i think is original..i suppose its similar to defend caste. You sit in a turret and dudes run at you and you have to shoot them down by shooting at them with left mouse button

change ammo type by pressing number... e.g 1= normal, 2= missiles

at the end of each round you can buy ammo and addons... how would i go about making this game?

No step #1 is being born then you have buying a computer and the accesories which you need for it, then buy Flash.

I'd tell you how to do this game if you gave me a clue of what level you were at in Flash.

-.-.....I made the assumtion that he was born and had a computer due to the fact that he was posting. But yes, we need to know your general level...examples -- Never made anything? Made some crappy games? Done some crappy animation?

owing a comp isnt really necesary to create a game..I have done lots of things on my friends comps..

well..that game isnt what I call "original"..its the same tipe of game as defend your castle..and there are a lot of games like that around..its hard to be original when everyone have already done everything..

With all due respect, whether or not the game idea is original isn't important. I see the actual enjoyment of the game the thing that really matters.

By the sounds of it, this wouldn't be a game I'd want to play.

Actually, I actually have plans to make a game kinda like that eventually.

Naturally, TBC! You just get finishing Project COWPIE, I'm anctious to know what the bleep it is. (Cmon, at least gimme a hint as to where it's hidden!)

TBC gotta learn to finish the projects up before telling us about other ones..we are waiting for like 3 games from him already..

A few quick steps.

1) Get Linux.
2) Learn Linux
3) Learn C++
4) Learn some more C++

Should you still feel the need to make a game, then by all means, go ahead :-D But don't think that you can simply "make a game" on any given afternoon. A lot of energy goes into a good game, even if it's made in Flash.

It's easy to think of new games. If in doubt, just take an existing game and reverse it. Imagine a platformer where you get to send your minions out to dispose of Mario! Imagine the first Mario/Donkey Kong arcade game with you as Donkey Kong, throwing down the barrels at Mario! There are tons of ideas left, particularly strategy games - if you made a game where you collect resources and build up an army in Flash, you'd be very popular. That's what happened when I made Invasion.

Yeah, you can forget about Vectr, in case you hadn't already. The whole structure of the engine is just terrible. I'll release the FLA here some time if anyone wants to continue it.

yeh.. first of all i am born, i do haver a com and i do have flash...i dont use linux... dont know how....and TBC COULD make a better one cause i sucketh at the flasheth but i learning...
