I fell kinda wierd having to ask a question in the newb help forum but is there anyway to change your username now since the speed upgrade?

No - The forum shops are disabled. This means you cannot alter your username (manually, at least). However, I think the moderators and admins may still have the power to alter profiles, so I suppose if you ask nicely, they will change it.

...On the other hand, since XCash is currently disabled, and it originally cost 3000 xCash for a change in username, you may need to forward an alternate form of payment.

Perhaps the admins will just put it on your tab, for when Xcash comes back!

That'd be interesting; I wonder when XCash will be back. They should set a date, and just make it based on the current price of gold. It'd be random, but people like dates.
