That's what I thought at first, but when I saw Pirates II, I was thinking "Holy shiznaz, this movie PWNS!!!!"

I voted Pirates, but at least ROTK did have an ending(or it was the ending). I think POTC:3 will be more comperable with ROTK.

Man, I haven't seen LOTR in a long time. I remember enjoying it a lot, so I guess that gets my vote.

POTC borrows from just about every film there is. First of all, there is a fight on top of a ruined castle. reminiscant of Highlander, then the waterwheel rolling is an obvious copy of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the end, where Jack runs into the Kraken's mouth with his sword, brings to mind the end of Little shop of Horrors, where the guy climbs into the plants mouth with his knife.

Anyway, the only thing worthwhile in the Pirates movies is Johnny Depp.

I was never really interested in the LOTR movies. I saw Fellowship and Two Towers but never really got the chance or the motivation to sit through Return of the King.

They're long and kind've boring IMO.

So Pirates of the Caribbean gets my vote.

Anyway I haven't seen Pirates of the Caribbean, so I can't say who is better.
