Futurama or the Simpsons?

Futurama is coming with new episodes and does keep some track of storyline. Simpsons is unpredicable with new episodes almost every week. So I would say both.

Clone High

I will explain my answer by examining the two most important factors in comedy: edge and wit.

The Simpsons hasn't been edgy or witty for years. Many cartoons aimed at young teens are better than the Simpsons.

Futurama is infinitely wittier than the Simpsons, but still lacks any real edge. Better than the Simpons by a dog's age, but far from the best around.

Family Guy (because I know someone is going to bring it up) is edgy but lacks true wit. We shall view the Ripht-Cam of an episode of Family Guy: Wow. Another physical gag. In a cartoon. During a yet another flashback. And look: Yet another celebrity joke. Hey, yet another movie reference. That somehow involves yet another physical gag. During a flashback. How am I stopping myself from laughing? No one knows.

Clone High was a great cartoon and deserved far more recognition than it got. Witty satire, edgy and interesting, Clone High has easily secured a place in my favorite animated TV shows.

When it comes to referential animated comedy, Clone High rules the roost.

I like Simpsons a bit better, but I really don't like either of them too much. Neither of them are edgy, or witty as Ripht already said. The Simpson's is just getting wayy too preachy for me, and I very rarely get more then a few laughs while watching. As for Futrama, many episodes I have gone without laughing. The jokes are always close, but never enough.

My two favorite cartoons right now are South Park and Family Guy. South Park is just plain awesome, no arguement there. And Family Guy is just plain funny. Yes, I know the storyline's suck, and I know a large portion of its jokes come from flashbacks, but it is still funny. I've yet to go through a Family Gu episode that doesn't make me laugh.

As for the new Futurama episodes, they were in fact four DVD movies, but they will now be airing as four episodes each on Comedy Central.

I prefer Futurama as of right now...old Simpsons episodes are much better than than the new ones and all the Futurama is better than the new simpsons...
