What's the normal/regular FPS great for Stick animations?

I usualy do my stuff on 18 fps.
Its just based on what looks smooth. Pick what you want. Just make it look smooth. Thats whats important.

Question: does it slow down Flash's performance if you crank it to 48 FPS?

I dont know why it would.
If you have many many things going on at once (especialy things with transparency), you'll definatly see the framerate go down. Just lower the quality (or remove crud for your project). But thats a different issue.

I see--thanks for the reply. So I take it that using 18 FPS is more of a way to reduce the animation workload for yourself?

person that stole skye's avvy.
anyway.
30 frames per second is movie quality but that doesnt mean its great.
id start out at 12, if an animation that is 36 FPS goes for 10 seconds, at 12 FPS you get 30. whitch is a real bonus when yours starting out because you get more reward for your work.
