How do the drill upgrades affect you? Do they make you drill faster or something ?Or do they allow you to drill through harder substances. Please help!

They just make you drill faster.

Oh,thank you squishy.

Now, this was some confusion to me in the beta. I was under the impression that the drill let you drill through harder substances...

But "squishy" is right.

Is it just me, or does a better and faster drill also mean you need less fuel to dig, and thus lets you stay down there longer? Seemed that way to me, and that also seems like a much better reason to invest money in a drill than a faster animation speed. :)

One thing's for sure, you need more time to dig deep down, so I wouldn't want to dry that with a stock drill anyway.

Well, you drill faster, so you get more accomplished in the time it would normally take you to dig, so you do use less fuel per drilling.

That's, at least, what I assume.

Yes it makes you drill faster, but the lower you go the slower you drill and the slower you move. At one point, if your cargo is getting full you cannot move upwards when you get really low in the ground which really stinks.

In answer to your question, no, it doesn't save any fuel.

If a better drill makes you drill faster, then what does a better engine do?

thats stupid. it should also let u dig harder stuff.

come on. a goldium drill digs through dimond. how screwed up is that.

It makes you go faster, of course.

It makes you fly faster.

yeah and it also allows you to fly with heavier loads.

'Course it's goldium, not gold so... yeah. Cheap excuse.

Gold would just kinda go squish.

Now that's fun to imagine.

*squish*

Dude, you squished my gold bar!

:D

Well, really, you're not trying to drill through the diamonds, you're trying to drill through the dirt around the diamonds.

MercuryLime

Er... yeah, I didn't think about that.

Well, it IS pretty large minerals for that little ship.. I think it is crunching the minerals a bit before it take it in.. :D

Is there any way to drill through the rocks that show up around -2000 feet?

Afterburner

No, only blowing them up works if you REALLY need to go through them.

WHat about Einsteinium? Is there a way to drill into those gold mines?

MercuryLime

keep in mind, you are drilling away the dirt, not grinding the particles of whatever it is into tiny pieces, and come on who would make the connection between goldium and gold lol

I would rather use the good ol' Talc drill.

*poof*

Let's hear it for the Mohs hardness scale!
