Is it possible to embed a whole TTF file in a flash document so the user does not have to have the actual TTF file on their PC?
for example, if I wanted to use a font in my flash which is quite obscure that no one else has, how could I make sure it works?
Sorry if it looks like a load of crap up there... It sure does to me.

If you click "Character" on the properties inspector when you have a text field selected, you can choose character sets to embed. I don't recommend embedding everything, since a lot of characters won't be used and the filesize will get very large.

sometimes embed characters show a bit oddly too..

I can't see any embed option for static text, but I can for dynamic text. However, I don't want my text to be 'dymanic' in any way.
Would right clicking the library and selecting 'New font' do the trick; as that's what I've done in the link below.

If you're using static text, it won't matter anyway. I used an obscure font for the temporary intro on www.nixide.com (http://www.nixide.com/) and people can still see that without having the font.
No, that wasn't advertising. It was relevant. If you can see the strange font on there, I'm proved correct.

Only a little bit different from a plain font. Knowing what the font is definitely supposed to look like might help.

do you want people typing stuff in? like input text?
if not you could always just turn the text into a vector by pressing ctrl + B twice with the text selected.

Well then, it comes out how the font should look in the SWF anyway, and I don't have that font.
Problem solved itself. :P

it hapends that static text is embed text by defalt...as it wont be changed, the whole sentence is treated as vectors and flash doesnt make the vectorization to show it..but in dinamic text, as the texts in it wont be the same all the time, flash needs the source font style in order to vectorize it and show it correctly.

so, static is good, unless its a variable?
Dynamic text is used for a varibles.
Static is for plain text.

so, static is good, unless its a variable?
Static is used for when that text isnt going to change.
Dynamic would be used for like displaying stats for a game because those change, showing your username, telling how many hits were taken, etc.
