If you haven't noticed, Tom Glavine threw a gem today. 7.2 innings, 9 strikeouts, giving up only three runs, and threw a perfect game threw 5.0 innings. But, have you noticed that Glavine has not thrown a bad start in a LONG time? Think of it, when you watch the Mets recap, you never see Glavine give up six runs, and leave in the third. He has thrown 26 straight games with at least 6.0 innings in ALL OF THEM. Not many people can do that. Especially at age 39-40, when he started the streak. 26 is amazing. That means that you haven't thrown a bad start for 2/3 of a year. I have a feeling he's probably going to get win number 300 this season. He is now 8-2 on the season, through 48 met games. Now, he's only 17 away from number 300. I swear, if the Mets leave him as a free agent, then I'm going to puke, and give the Mets less respect, and they'll lose 500 respect AND cool points.
What do you think?
Baseball is pointless without alcohol.

Huzzah! *Throws up*
Glavine is a good, incredibly consistant pitcher. He will always go his 5 or 6 innings, usually more. There is never a time when he will have a disaster inning because he is such a smart pitcher. Instead of overmatching people like he used to, he now has learned to finesse hitters into striking out with his age. Now he can last longer in the game than most pitchers because he doesn't rely on one aspect or one pitch to get hitters out.
At this point, I think the Mets are the biggest threat to take the NLCS from us. As a Cardinals fan, I'm forced to hate you forever. You understand, don't you? ;)

Yeah. Glavine pitched incredibly smart to animal (A.K.A Albert Pujols). Glavine gave him the hat-trick in that game. 0-4.
By the way, Albert Pujols is now reffered to as "animal".

He said himself that he believes he is better now then he was when he was younger because he has mastered the placement and selection of pitches more and is able to make them chase rather than just blowing it by. Kudos to him and hopefully he gets 300.
Tom Glavine FTW!
I even have him on my fantasy baseball team.

Yes Tom Glavine, and Pedro Martinez, but who else??
Jose Lima??
Jeremi Gonzalez??
No one else. The Mets will fall to second or third by the end of the year.
