The Koenigsegg CCX, it sells for $722,534 and has about 806 hp, top speed
about 245 mph (396 km/h).
If anyone has more information about it, post away.
Or if you think there is a faster production car, tell me about it.
(I forgot to mention, the car meets the stringent emission standards for the U.S.A)

I don't get the point of high-speed sports cars that require special fuel just to sit in congestion and follow the speed limits just like everybody else does. It's just a pointless waste of money.

it can go 240 mph

Yeah, but what's the point?

Whats the point to most things? A fast car has the same advantages as a fast computer. Do people really need to constantly work on advancing technology?
Really, it might not have too much of a point, but speed entertains people. When people are entertained by something, they buy it. Who ever created it gets paid, then uses that money to buy more things in the community, causing economy to function.
As for the Koenigsegg CCX? Too flashy. Give me a classy '74 El Camino with a V8 motor. Those things purr like kittens.

Yeah, but what's the point?
True you’re really buying it for all of that speed that in the U.S.A you'll never be able to obtain except on a race track.

what about salt tracks?

Quiet, before you hurt yourself.
1) A faster computer allows me to run better programs and does automatic work faster (scripts, Computer-Assisted-Graphics, pretty much anything with long load/rendering times). A fast car doesn't get me to my goal quicker becase:
2) There are speed limits for cars. There aren't any for computers.
Plus the amount fuel that I'd need for a car probably requires an income with 6 digits. Sure, the car itself does as well, but that's not the point here.
Yeah, but what's the point?
The point is, it can go 240 mph OMG LOL!
>_>
Irrelevant, but I just discovered that you can copy text formatting and it's automatically inserted in the reply box. How cool is that?

yeh but they have tested is they go at maximum speed and apply nos the speed can get to almost 320 mph that superfast car productions now are getting speedy cars that are almost hitting the speed of sound or at least half way to it and thats incredible now they also wanna make the mclaren lm as fast as the koninsegg car but shape the car as streamed lined as possible so it may looke like a pointed arrow as a car
I like these kind of cars, there sleek, stylish and..240 Mph XD
You may not be able to drive them fast places..*Unless you go to the Autobahnn* =P
But as Screech mentioned, I would also take like a 69 Charger over one of these.

You should be ashamed of the way you write. Seriously. How often were you beaten up to care so little about your image? Do you even understand a word of what you wrote?
Directed at our banned Brit, mind you.
*Unless you go to the Autobahnn*
Myth. There are rarely any stretches without a speed limit. Usually the speed limit is 75 mph tops. Of course no one drives that slow if it's empty, but we're talking about what's legal here, right >_>

That's not what they say.

Oh yes, because all Germans know every last thing about Germany. Just like how Americans know everything about America, and Canadians know everything about Canada.

And I assume these three sources know what they are talking about, figuring they all are respectable, most likely written by adults, and very similar to one another.

The Veyron 16.4 (known as the EB 16/4 Veyron in concept stages) is the most powerful, most expensive, and fastest street-legal production car in the world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_automotive_superlatives),
Research, my pretties.

No, they don't say there are no, no speed limit zones, they say about 50% has a speed limit.

many sections of Autobahn do in fact have speed limits.
I rest my case.

I agree with the people who say the speed limits prevent you from going top speed but I wouldn't even want to go that fast, I'd definitely kill myself. If all the roads were perfectly straight then it might be a different story but I think the way cars work now, with the exception of fuel prices, are good enough for me when I can drive. Of course I've never driven but the idea of getting in a car and going that fast doesn't exactly excite me.

The autobahn in Germany has no speed limits.

I remember watching a show on the discover channel, within the last year. It was all about the Autobahn. In the program they show people from the RUF Company (a company they takes stock Porsches and beefs them up) driving one of their cars at 200 plus miles an hour on the Autobahn. The program also mentions how some areas of the Autobahn have speed limits, traffic back-ups, and roadwork which can easily ruin your no speed limit fun. But there still are many stretches of Autobahn with no speed limit.
On another note, this article,http://car-reviews.automobile.com/news/bugatti-eb-16-4-veyron-nears-250-mph/1219/ (http://car-reviews.automobile.com/news/bugatti-eb-16-4-veyron-nears-250-mph/1219/) states that the Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron is faster than the Koenigsegg CCR but not in production yet. But this article is kind of old, so is the Veyron in production? I heard about the Koenigsegg CCR one month ago, so it's just started to go into produciton, did it already lose it's title to the Veyron in just one month?
Lastly I believe people make extremely fast cars for a few reasons:
1.) Childhood fantasy.
2.) Scientific advancement. While working on a car that is very fast, I'm sure that engineers find out how to make more fuel efficient engines, better running engines, and less polluting cars.

yes the bugatti veyron is in production and sells for $1,250,000. It has a 1001 hp engine and you must do to a total car check with a laptop for the car to allow you to get past 230 mph. the car gets 7 mpg city and 10 mpg highway... and 3 mpg going 253 steady... they did not test the top speed of the car on a race track, because of the turns it could not get a steady 253, instead they used a compleat airstrip.
although i dont think they could even get a long drive on that... at 253 your going over one mile in 20 SECONDS
