Whose fault is obesity?
The consumers
or
The companies (Macdonalds, Burger king, etc.)

It's our own faults.
The food industry creates these fattening foods because we want them.

The parents.

Our society encourages pregnant women to eat whatever the hell they want while they're pregnant. It's unmitigated ignorance. Our babies are addicted to sugar before they even leave the womb. It's disgusting.

The consumers. It is our choice to eat. The companies can't make us eat. There was also a law passed in about 2001 that people can't sue food companies for making them fat.

Consumers. We have all the scientific evidence and facts that fast food is bad. And yet we still eat it. The companies are just trying to make money.

I can't believe people actually tried to sue McDonalds.

You know what their reason was?

OMGWTFBBHQAX0RD McDonalds made me fat!

It's your own fault that you're a tub-o'-lard.

Barring medical conditions, of course. For instance, thyroid difficulties often cause a huge gain or loss in weight. Fortunately there are medications available to help regulate that, although some of the time the exact dosage is... off, to say the least. It's decently difficult for doctors to get the right amount of medication, since that kind of thing has to be tailored to the specific person.

If you ask an obese person why they eat so much, they'll probably compare food to an addictive drug, which to them, is essentially all it is.

I wouldn't like to put the blame on anyone, but I'd have to say the consumer.
And I take it Riphty's gonna starve his wife when the morning sickness comes >_>

In "Supersize Me", which is a movie about a guy who only ate McDonalds for every meal, every day, for a whole month, he interviewed a foreigner about what she thought. She said that she can't even drink the smallest size cup (neither can I, they're huge!). Some people even drink practically a gallon of soda each day. The results in the end were that he got very out of shape, he was at risk for a heart attack at a young age (he's already pretty old), and that his sex life was decreasing. Getting fat makes your wee-wee get smaller. Heh, and yet, people still eat fast foods on a daily basis. You're only supposed to have it once a month (that's what most nutritionists say).

I eat because I'm a big, fat, lazy, 13 year old fatass with nothing better to do.

And if that didn't clear it up for you, without a doubt, it is the consumers fault for eating so much.

The consumers, if it was the companies, then everyone would be fat.

Although it sounds like most of America is.

Note to self- Dump Ripht.

It is the fault of both the companies and the consumers. Multi-million dollar companies such as Mcdonalds, have huge marketing schemes dedicated into fooling you to believe its healthy. These fast food chains have been trying to brainwash us since we were children, when they offered us cool toys.

Is that to say that the companies are fully responsible? No. Its our duty to figure out whats going into our bodies. We cannot let the media just tell us what to eat. We have got to make these choices for ourselves.

I think the statistics are way off, trust me, 70%, or whatever bull#### number they have nowadays, of adults aren't obesse. I'd say 25%.

i say people are obese because they have no life and don't want one, so they deserve to be fat if they are not going to exercise or try to get a better job so they don't have to eat at fast food joints

2/3 of America is medically obese. Doesn't mean that they are considered obese by other people. I would say the problems are the consumers. They simply don't bother to maintain a good, healthy diet.

obesity,

consumers buy the product and eaat the product (yum, peanuts!)
distributers sell you the product

i blame the consumers because if they know that the food is not healthy they should be ashamed.
i also blame the distributers when they lie to you that something has only 52 calories when it really has 445.

you really cant just blame both the contributor and consumer.
