Civilization III

I think Civillization III is a cool game. Has anyone ever herd of it or played it?

No but I have played part 2.If you like CivilizationIII you should try Age Of Empires,that game kicks ass!

its the best strategy-based game ever! Next to Warcraft 3: the frozen throne, of course.

I just got Civ3 around 2 weeks ago (gold edition), it is a very good game, setting strategy as the whole means of winning. I have AoE and Conquerers, but those require a strategy that fills in every second, and you can't miss anything if you want to keep up, so the games are very different feel, but equallly good. The way the tech tree works is the first time I've seen it like that, how you have to do most of the researches one at a time to advance age. It makes it harder to rush in ages, so units take time to become obsolete. Anyone that ones one of the two games should buy the other. The biggest difference though is the game length. AoE games take 3 hours at the long end (that I know of), when three hours is the short end of Civ games.

Civ 3 is a great game but there is one thing that really bugged me about it. When you build cities far away from your capital and then they have so much corruption is takes over a hundred turns to make a forbidden palace. It makes my head explode sometimes...

I have Warcraft III, but I really stink at it, I don't know how to get units fast enough.
