Here's a classic Football debate. Many people, including me, think that it is unfair that a coin flip can ultimately decide who wins a football game. A team can get the ball first, drive a few yards, kick a field goal and win, and the other team won't even ever get the ball.

The college football's overtime procedure is perfect in my eyes. Both teams get an equal chance, and it starts at the opposing team's 25 yard line, so there's no punting, just scoring.

What do you think? Should the NFL go with fairness or tradition?

That is a good point. It sucks to be on the losing side of the coin flip. They should go with fairness. Just becaus it would be fair to both teams. Give them equal chances so they can win. Sorry for being repetetive but you said most of what there is to say.

Gawd I so agree. It is so much fun watching games like that. That's how my highschool won against our rivals.

I don't really care, it makes games shorter, besides, the only NFL game I watch is the Super Bowl...NFL is worthless

I think they should send both teams to their own endzone, and the place the ball in the middle of the feild. You have to get the ball and get to the other endzone, if you are down, your allowed to get back up.

But since that won't happen, they really should do what the colleges do. I would be pissed if I was on the loosing end of the coin toss.

The NFL really needs to add the college overtime system....
I agree, it would be better.

My opinion is way different from others.

In the NFL, there should be a 10 minute overtime period. I mean, come on, who doesn't want that? I love long games. I have the 1999 Met's play-off game recorded. I believe that games longer are real competitive. The players get tired, and must use more effort for longer games. This often shows who's better.

I hate the "First team that scores wins". In conclusion to my paragraph, I believe that there should be a 10 minute period of overtime.
