I think the Seahawks drew the short straw when it came to the calls in Super Bowl XL. First, the offensive pass interference call in the 1st quarter against Seattle. He hardly even touched the guy, and it definitely wasn't enough to throw him off balance. He caught the touchdown pass, but it was erased because of the call. Second, the play where Ben Roethlisberger ran it in for a touchdown. I really didn't think he crossed the line, and apparently neither did the official at first, but then he eventually called it a touchdown.
I'm not saying that the outcome of the game would have been different, I'm just pointing out that some calls were kind of iffy.

So many people were betting real money back where I live. So many people lost so much.
Yes i beleive the refs were paid off. Everytime the had a good play, they were flagged. 90% of the time. I wasnt to happy about that. And Ben wasnt in. His hand wasnt in. And you are right for that pass interference, he barely even touched him. He put his hand up and the guy was there. Nothing intentional.

Number one: There are bad calls in every game.
Here are a few of the bad ones--
1. I don't remember what quarter this was in, but the Seahawks throw a bomb down the right side of the field. The WR catches it, and runs it to, like, the 2 yard line. However, a ref called him out of bounds for the catch. Out?!?! He was no where near!
2. I don't even remember who had possesion here, but I think it was the Seahawks. Anyways, they throw a strike, the guy catches it, take two steps(more than enough to estabilish possesion) and drops it. The other team recovers. However, the refs call it incomplete, even though he took two steps.
The Roethlisberger TD was kinda iffy, but if you look at the lces of the football, and look at the white line, you will see that the football did cross the plane.
Anways, the offensive pass interference was a good call. The WR pushed off of him, and gave the CB no chance to follow, since his momentum was backwards.

I looked at that play for about 15 times in slo-mo. At one point, the ball did cross-over the white line. So I don't think that was a bad call.

Number one: There are bad calls in every game. That's true, but this is the Super Bowl, so they're under a more watchful eye. XP
I looked at that play for about 15 times in slo-mo. At one point, the ball did cross-over the white line. So I don't think that was a bad call. That may be the case, but when I saw it live in real speed, I didn't think he got in. The ref can't sit down and review it before making the initial call.
Another one was the penatly against Matt Hasselbeck after he threw an interception. He brought down the guy who was returning it by going low and hitting his legs, but they calling him for blocking below the wasit on another guy. My question is why would he be blocking a guy when the guy with the ball is right in front of him? He was obviously attempting to tackle the guy.
