to stop this game from turning into the sims all you have to do is base the game in the town not in the house. in the sims the whole game is about taking care of your house but srpg2 should be about wandering the town and doing things.

i agree. the main focus of srpg is to make as much money as possible. if it stays in the house too much, then it might get lame. but skye wont let that happen.

but i think being able to walk around u'r house would be cool, use a furniture store to make u'r house look better, nothing you need to do but something fun, sure work u'r arse off, but you'll just have a black and white c*ap a** tv, that's why i like the idea how the house (if it's going to be put in) you worked big time to get as much money as possible but you have nothing to show for it. this way you see what all u'r work was for

The idea in this version will be not only to aquire money, but *wealth*
Your net worth will probably be based on all of your possessions.

Socio-Economic-Status might come into play...

will there be another rating system? maybe change the ratings from words, maybe to a letter based system like in resident evil?, thanks for the info so far, Jeff

StickRPG won't be a game meant to be *finished*, but rather an ongoing game in which you can continue to improve your lifestyle. You will, of course, be able to save and continue later.

Would ongoing mean also that you'll add more stuff later on?

I was hoping for a no ending game. It makes it more enjoyable to go from strength to strength. I hope its got enough stuff to last. I think the house should only be used to sleep, and to have some minigames to do with possesions, a few other 'life' based things would be kewl but not to many.

will srpg2 be finished? I think it'd be cool to have the opening part of the game (srpg1) in the sequel, added stores and opened stores maybe the orginal apartmet is your basic crumby apartment

i like that idea, skye. a never-ending game. awesome.

Never ending game is probably the best thing... You can never conquer it and it'll keep on going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and you get my point don't you?

yeah it sounds like this is going to be based largly in the house aswell i liked srpg becuz it wasnt so much in the house just sleep
but i do agree that there should be stuff for the house and furniture adn stuff
but i am not a real fan of the sims so i dont like the idea that it sounds like sims

eatmorchikin6464
07-09-2003, 05:36 PM
i think skye is trying to keep it as far away from the house as possible except for a few things

the sims was amusing for some stuff like the crule and unusual punishment on your people and building the house was fun but after that it was repetitive...

i know cheats so i dont have to work. and i have all of them except online and superstar. they are comin out with sims 2 wich sounds alot better. the way the creators have made it is so that what you do durring you life time effects how you will turn out. for instance if you dont work out and watch tv all day you will become fat. also your sims grow. if you start the game with 2 parents and 2 children eventually they will turn into 2 grandparents and two adults

hey i sit infront of my pc and don't workout or anything and i am not fat! that's an unfair statement, i happened to be pretty skinny, there should be a way to build your sim that he/she has a high metobalsim, that burns off fat quick and they won't get fat as easy, not everyone sits around and watches tv is fat and nasty, they have been like that before the sat around, and have so little energy they don't wana do anything.

no. thats just if you do that, never get up and eat alot. you sim wont be able to work out after a while and will become hungry more often. but if he works out all the time then he will become strong and healthy.

If you are inactive high metabolizemes can lessen. you will get fat if you sit and eat, without doing anything else.

I like the idea of a never ending game...but don't you think that there should be a deadline? You could continue to play your file but you are evaluated at a certain point, or every hundred days.

well the sims was fun back when it was new and revolutionary... but now its just a big cash cow that well they put it best on penny arcade, you give them real money to get more pretend money and then buy pretend stuff that means you have to pay more real money, f***ing brain surgons
