I posted this in another thread in order to stop one scammer. So I'm hoping this will stop them all. So here is a quick guideline on what scammers are looking for and what scammers say.

Runescape Scam Guidlines.
By Dominick (AKA AssaultRifle).
Phrases a Scammer will say:
1) I work at Jagex.
If their name is not on the Jagex Staff List then they do NOT work fo Jagex.
2) I can give you free...
No, they can't. Unless you are playing the game and someone walks up to you and trades you stuff for no charge, there is nothing free on Runescape. One way to tell if they are trying to scam you is if they offer you a rare or expensive item for a non-expensive one. Make sure to watch out because they can remove the item and quickly press Agree, leaving you without your item.
3) Give me your name and password and i'll give you....
NOTHING. You will get nothing but a stolen account out of this transaction. Keep away from people like this!
4) I'm selling a level (High number) account!
Funny thing is, most of the time the account they are saying this from is a LOT lower in level then the account they are selling. These people will demand to have the money first in the transaction and run away with it the second you give it to them. Strongly advised not to come close to these trades.

----------------------------------------
Next, sometimes you see a post in a forum or a blog and someone is saying something like this:

Hi! I'm (A Moderator, Rich Player, Jagex Staff) and I can (Up Your Level, Get You Free Stuff, Give You A Hacking Program) Free! I (Long drawn out explanation of who, what, why, and how he/she will give you whatever it is they are offering. Ussually this consist of them bragging about their intelligence and knowledge of Computer Programming. They will probably claim to have a way into Jagex servers, Have a supirior hacking program, ext ext.). All you have to do is send me your (Name and Password and/or Recovery Questions) and the (Gold, Levels, Item) is yours!
Send it to (E-mail that is a Hotmail account or some other Mailing System in which you cna make multiple free accounts).
Thank you,
(Scammers "Name")
----------------------
Of course you realize that this cannot be true. Scammers are all over the place at Jagex, you have to go against the vice of greed.

I hope this cleared up everything for all the newbs (not n00bs!) out there. If there is anything you would like me to add to this please do not hesitate to post it here.

Have a nice day,
Dominick

I hope those scammers get punished severely.

If I played runescape, and I found out a scammer's IP address, I would use Netbus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netbus)on him/her.

O.K., that's helpful, I'll admit, but some people don't really care. (No offense). I'm not saying I don't like the thread, but we don't need to attract Runsecape geeks. Again, no offense :) .

Also if a someone gives u a website address for a hack for runescape DO NOT BELIEVE THEM as they can give u a program that can steal ur password and important credit card info that ur parents might use while not knowing
