How do I find the area of a pentagon and a circle.

For a circle, it is Radius squaredx3.14, and you should AT LEAST figure ot a pentagon.

Hexagon-

1. Find the length of a corner to the centre of the pentagon.
2. Find the length of each side of the pentagon
3. Times these two numbers, divide by 2 then times by 5.

An easy way to do this is to turn the pentagon into 5 'slices'

I am only posting this because that link above appears to be dead for me and I am not sure if it really is dead or not

There is a general formula you can use to find the area of any regular polygon (triangle, square, pentagon, etc.) Should I remember it or find it somewhere. Breaking it into simple shapes will only work as long as you have the needed information (or a drawing that's to scale). That might not always be the case, so it isn't something I'd rely on.

Or you could just double integrate 1 as a function of x and y. But that might be swatting a fly with a bazooka...

Random assumption here: If he's trying to figure out the are of a pentagon, I highly doubt he understood what you said :p

For the pentagon, I find the easiest way is to get the area of one of the triangles (fifths) then multiply it by 5. I wasn't thinking when I posted that embarassing mistake.

Everyone makes mistakes :p Whether you take 2 triangles and a square or 5 triangles and no square, the idea behind it is the same
