why do you try so hard in it, or are you just smart in those kinds of things? i completely suck in those classes, but i get B's in them so that's good enough...

i got a question for you...
how can you be the most powerful man in the world and have less iq than a peeled grape?

Easy
1) He's not the most powerful man in the world.
2) I didn't know you could peel grapes
:sigh:
Anyone got a REAL question(s)?

fine then, name EVERY way that each branch exercises checks and balances.
and, tell us EVERY power that each branch has
my teacher had us memorize all of that and he'd test us on it every week. i would hate him but i think he died, seriously. about 3/4ths of the way in the year he left and we kept getting different new teachers fresh from school that didn't know a thing on how to teach. the rumor was that he died, some kids tried calling him but his wife always answered and didn't say anything...

I had American Gov. last year. I pulled off a "B-". My teacher was awsome. He didn't have us memorize much. But we did have to memorize all the of the rights we had if a cop tried to arrest us for something. I forgot most of them, but there was a lot of stuff we could do. and a lot of stuff cops cant do.

who is the most powerful man in the world then? how do you know who i was referring to? and peeling grapes is often a term used when referring to someone who has everything done for them. ie. roman emporers used to have grapes peeled for them cos they were so lazy (not that you would have grapes peeled for you anyway, bah, its just an expression, where do you live?> under a rock?

Well, what's the point in using a reference like that if you don't think we know who it is?

His initials are GWB and as soon as he finds some moronic reason for declaring war (such as continuing a fight his familylost 10 years earlier...), he controls the world's largest arsenal of dangerous, useless, and civilian threatening nuclear devices.
Why is the US allowed to hold nukes and Sadam wasn't? That's one of the things i'd like to know, what gives certain countries the right to control nukes (notice that even they are starting to dismantle them, or even have dismantled them) and the US continues to hold weapons that kill more civilians than military units?
*looks for Zach* i think this may even be a decent question (no, it's nothing anti-american, I really do want to know who gives out these rights and what guidelines decide who gets to have massive killpower.. hmm... fraaaaags).

Probally not. He'll check later today after school. He gets out at like 2 or something like that.. That's when I get out.
Anyways, I can't think of a good question to ask him or a question that I've been wondering about the government.

I have a question:
Our teacher made us find the salary, job, name, etc. of EVERY US government position last year...I ended up handing her 200 pages...no kidding...
Anyway, this was the hardest thing to find: CURRENT salary of majority leader in the Senate.

oooooo, that sucks...
i had to do a similar thing too, i needed to find about 70 articles relating to government jobs and such, and then when we did the project for it we only used 3 of them. i think my original teacher is dead, seriously... he left after about half of the year and we kept getting these stupid new teachers who had no clue what to do. that's a nice thing to do, give us tons of work for half of the year and die leaving us with a ton of wasted work..

Wow, I am seriously sorry. I had almost forgotten about this!
But no worries! I am here.
Sorry DarkReality, but that's not really what the thread is about.. I really have no idea. I would say that it would have to do with the UN or if they support terrorism.
The rights that are given to you when you are held in custody or arrested are your Miranda Rights.
Named after the Mildly Retarded man who kidnapped and rapped an eighteen year old girl. Then was interrogated about it(Without being read his rights), eventually he confessed. But it was unconstitutional to jail him becuase he didn't know his rights... Or somthing along those lines.
Sorry, kinda tired.

well, how about every example of how each branch of the government performs checks and balances? if i had to memorize the entire thing, then i'm gonna take it out on you... but if it's too much then sorry, i konw it's a LOT to remember.
ToKillAnATTICUS

Yeah, well we learned about checks and balances but we never had to memorize them.. I'm sorry you had to do that. lol
All I can remember is the Veto, and the 2/3 of congress to override the veto.
*Sigh*
Sorry lol

Thanks but no thanks. I bet Fiz is a nice guy, but I'll pass. I wasn't trying to be arrogant about me knowing American History. This thread was just made it answer some questions that you may have. Not quizzing me. lol But it's cool, I obviously know I'm not American History Genius of the world.
But if anyone still has questions, go ahead. :D
