I would like to apologize to all you football fans out there- when Cincinnati rolls into town, it doesn't mean an easy 'W' anymore. It means a hard fight to the death, that you will probaby lose. Yes, that is correct: the Bengals are good. Going 3-0 for the first time since my birth, this is, in fact, the year of the Tiger.

POINT 1: THE STEALS SEAL THE DEAL

With two games in a row with 5+ takeaways, the Bengals are number one in the league with 16. In 1990, their last playoff season, they finished the season with 13. You can't win a game if you can't keep the ball.

POINT 2: QB'S NUMBERS SAY IT ALL

Young QB Carson Palmer continues to accumulate impressive stats. However, one of them says it all. In his past 11 starts, the Bengals are 8-3. Not too mention that his last 6 games have had an average rating of 115. Near flawless.

And er.. that's all I got right now. Updates to come!

*agrees*
9-1 they are making the playoffs this year.
(Unless they tank)

Yes, the bungles will be hard to beat *snickers* Honestly I haven't seen the play (Probably because they haven't played my team (Go Big Blue!)). All I know is in every single football video game I've played, they suck. Big time.

Actually, the past two years, they've been 8-8, and unless you suck at the game, you should be able to beat any opponent on the highest level with them.

Anyways, I'm saying Super Bowl winners.

Well thier defense definitely needs work. Their average opponet scoring is over 17.

theryman
09-27-2005, 07:42 PM
Because 13+8+7/3=17? Their average opponent score is a little over 9. Not to mention 16 takeaways in 3 games. In-freaking-sane.

Yeah man. the Bengals are playing some inspired football.

I love it!

Well thier defense definitely needs work. Their average opponet scoring is over 17.

They're sort of like Indianapolis; If you don't stop scoring, you'll simply score more than the other team. That's how the Colts used to do it.

Except, as I said before, the Browns scored 13. the Vikings 8, and the Bears 7. Definitely not high scores.

Let me say this: The 2002 New Orleans Saints started 3-0.

They finished the season at 9-7, after at one point being 7-2. During their 3 game slide at the end of the season, one of their losses was to the Bungles.

But I'll explain.

I think they will probably make the playoffs, but they will not make it as a juggernaut team. Palmer is young and is going to make mistakes. Their defense is far from outstanding, and I don't think they'll hold up this level of play very long. Guess who they play this week? The Texans. An underachieving team with a LOT of talent.

I smell an upset. 25-13.

Bengals are reborn though.

Doubting Thomas. Allow me to throw more statistics at you.

The Bengals are 2nd in the League in points scored, and second in the league in points allowed.

The Bengals are expected to beat the Texans by 10 points, the biggest expected score yet.

Texans scored 14 points in there two games, and allowed 49.

Bengals are first in turnover differential (+12), 5 over second place Pittsburgh.

In ypg, the Bengals are third at just under 400.

Individually, cornerback Deltha O'Neal has the most INT in the league, with four.
Carson Palmer is in second with a QB rating of 114, but in first with a percent complete of 71.1.
Rudi Johnson is sixth in the NFL with 300 yards(rushing), Chad Jonhson seventh with 307 yards.
Shayne Graham is third in scoring for kicker with 38.

NO CHANCE of an upset.

That information nay still be unfounded, yet I've seen 1 to many lucky defensive plays is what I mean And I also did mean yards ran but I was thinking of something else as I typed that last post.

It's been 3 GAMES! Are you seriously going to make a big judgement on the season based on three games? That secondary's interceptions from Week 2 were given to them by Culpepper, so I still think it will end this week.

Yes, I do and can. I will bet you 100 XCash on the game. Are you on?

Rambo

You're on. Just make sure you make a note of it for when we get Xcash back.

Meh...I guess the Bengals aren't just a bunch of 2nd graders in pads anymore...Hmmf...This goes against everything I've been taught to believe about the NFL.

Funny, Alphaniner. 4-0 for the first itme since we went to Super Bowl in '88. Pay up, Rambo.

Alphaniner
10-02-2005, 04:15 PM
well its true, they were, well...NOT VERY GOOD!

The Falcons aren't known for their excellence, behold their 3 and one-ness-ism!

(That's just a prediction...}

The Bucs are 4-0 too! :)

Rambo

I'm paying, just give me a minute. :)

Not a great performance, but a win nontheless.

Texans must really be worthless. David Carr gets sacked 500,000 times again.

By the way, the Bungles didn't win the '88 Super Bowl. The 49ers did. Under the wings of Joe Montana. The Bungles have won as many Super Bowls as my grandma: None.

Also, Who Dat came before Who Dey. Who Dat originated in the 70s with a very small following of fans.

Hate to bumpeh, but they are now 5-1. Palmer is on the verge of breaking an NFL record- most games in a row with a passer rating of over 100. He's tied at nine with Peyton Manning.

Anyhoo, big division game next week verse the Steelers. Should be good.

Yeah, Im watching that live on PPV.

Sunday, sunday, sunday!

Will Carson Palmer be remembered as the best quaterback in the history of the game?

Or simply just as good as Peyton Manning? Find out.. Sunday!

Although I must say, I will be rather disappointed if Roethlisberger doesn't start. Some people will say it's a fluke.

Would anybody care to make a wager?

Alphaniner
10-18-2005, 06:39 PM
Manning is better...What about Archie Manning? And Palmer isn't the best...Not even...

theryman
10-18-2005, 06:41 PM
Ahh, but if he gets a 100 passer rating on Sunday, he technically will be the best. At least in that stat.

Mikeh

What about Eli Manning?

The Prodigal
10-19-2005, 03:34 PM
Eli?

Talk about Eli later. When he learns how to throw. And not to whine about what team he's on.

OMG BUMP AND DOUBLE POST

Anywhoo, we lost in the game I was talkin bout, but we won in the second one! Yay!

So, anywhoo, we are now 9-3, with a two game lead in the division, and yes, say it with me now...

A garunteed winning season.

I've waited literally my whole life for this.

But the Bengals won't make the Supa Bowl.
They gotta take Peyton and the Colts!

There's no way your Bengals'll be in the big game.

I dunno, they hung in with the Colts in their game. Scoring more than 30 points on the Colts? That doesn't happen often. And then 30+ on each the Ravens near perfect D, and the Steelers Stell Curtain.

The Bengals are potent. I'm looking forward to a rematch. Carson and Manning are a lot alike, both runnig audibles, changing the play on the line, slicing and dicng the defencse.

Gerbil!

The Colt's are gonna win it. Come on, 14-2 record (I'm possibly sure this isn't their record, but with something like that, you've got a super bowl team.
