FFXI best MMORPG ever?

I have never played a MMORPG before but after reading up a bit on FFXI I decided I would give it a try and I was just wondering if anyone here is planing on getting it that way it will be easier to find people to party up with.

if u r a "begginer MMORPGer" ;-) then dont try one u have to pay for. try one from www.mmorpg.com (one of the freebies there)
such as runescape, risk your life etc. i recomand RYL, curently at beta testing, go to mmorpg.com go to game list, and go down, u'll find it there somewhere.
