Anyone learning any new guitar tabs latley? Right now I'm working out the kinks out of the intro to "Wake Me Up When September Ends" Yes I know, Green Day, if it helps its the only song on the American Idiot album that I find good... A lil while ago I learned Hurt by Johnny Cash. I got that nailed down and I can play it pretty good now :).

Oh, by the way if anyone is interested in learning tabs here you go

www.mxtabs.net (http://www.mxtabs.net)
and
www.tabcrawler.com (http://www.tabcrawler.com)

Those are the only ones I know.

Another good one is guitartabs.cc

I take lessons, so I mostly look for the power chords for some songs on the internet...

www.ultimate-guitar.com (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/) is a pretty good one.

I play bass, but oh well. I am trying to learn some Tool and Staind right now, but I have played some Anthrax, Mudvayne, Slayer, Smile Empty Soul, and Nine Inch Nails.

And I love tuning my bass to tunes that I have never heard of before in order to play 5-string on my 4-string.
I can live with drop D, or down a half-step, usually. (I actually play drop-D most of the time)

I plan on buying a cheapo guitar and amp for $200 and learning to play from books and the internet. I'll remember this page.

Um. Is it possible to learn from books and the internet anyway?

By the way, someone find guitar tabs for van halen eruption and show me them. lol.

I took lessons for like half a year, so I cant really answer that, but I dont take them anymore and im doing fine. Just look up songs that you are interested. Im still wondering how the hell to tune down a step, half step, whatever. The only alternate tuning I know is Drop D, but i dont know any good drop D songs...

I quit playing guitar recently. I played for about a year and a half and had just gotten bored with it lately.

I did pull off the lead to "Reelin' In The Years" by Steely Dan flawlessly. You may not consider it very impressive, but, for me, it is. I love playing it.

Kick-arse, Tool. :) 46&2, anyone? Or some Schism?

Suprisingly, I got Schism pretty well the FIRST time I tried it. My guitar teacher must freakin pwn.

Anyways.

for harder stuff, check out Powerman 5000, or Iced Earth, specifically My Own Saviour, Stand Alone, Pure Evil, Travel in Stygian (Songs by Iced Earth) For REALLY hard stuff.

Easier songs include

Is there Anybody Out There? (Pink Floyd)
House of the Rising Sun (?)
Nothing Else Matters (Metallica)

No, I mean Is there Anybody Out There. Just play it slow. it's just the A chord, fingerstrumming thingy, changing it one note at a time
