My tastes vary... I'm a metalhead. But I like Grunge (mostly Pearl Jam and Nirvana). I do like Orchestral music, Classical's always good, Classic Rock. Some NuMetal (Slipknot and Mudvayne are garbage). Some Jazz (Gordin Goodwin Band). J-Pop (over in Japan, pop singers actually have talent), J-rock, j-punk. Then there's my affinity for contemporary and progressive rock.

I like classic rock like beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin..... Rap is horrible in my own opinion..... but that's my opinion, not yours.

Metal evolved from blues, not rock.

Rock evolved from blues, not metal.

Of course, metal has been around since there was music. Metal is just the darker side of music. Listen to some Mozart, he did a lot of metal. Not heavy metal, but he did do metal.
