i use purple, i think its so much easier because you really dont have to aim.

Red, I think it's the one that makes a big firey blast alll across the screen... It's really easy. Purple takes a while because you have to get it maxed to have it be good...

pp= powerful laser attacks up to 10 things at the same time with full power and is massive
gm= green missiles/guided missiles

red and homing rockets are the pwns all when maxed out, i got to lvl 4 without losing a life and i didnt need to use a bomb

plus if you get really close to a boss you do a ton of damage
