That's funny, I always remembered the first time I ever saw a GeoCities website, that was when I played a game called "Arc" and was looking for some strategies.

Wouldn't Yahoo just revamp with something more point two-oh-ish? I can't imagine them just closing off something like this for no reason.

Ah, yes, an age gone. I found out by going to xkcd, and noticed it looked, well, like a site on Geocities. Farewell, project that helped shape the internet into what it is today.

Makes me a bit sad. They could at least hand over those files to the archivers, there's a lot of interesting stuff that will be lost.

I never had one but I remember it fondly. They should archive the sites instead of just deleting them. Oh well... its the end of an era, a better time.
