Diamond187
09-29-2003, 12:54 AM
The absolute minimum amount of time possible, which is about 4-6 hours a week for me.

kevinok
09-29-2003, 12:58 AM
Well for real it all depends on home much I get.

You.Are.All.LUCKY!

I get at least an hour of homework a day
discounting special projects, which can make
homework up to 2 and a half hours...
and I get projects weekly, no exceptions yet.

8th grade, all Pre-AP (Advanced Placement) with electives woodshop, Latin 1, and Keyboarding (yuck)

Homework... hilarious. I think I'd have about half an hour of "work" and about half an hour of reviewing things, but that's all hypothetical.

i'm so lucky, my homework usually takes about 20 min a day. that's if i have any, a lot of the times i don't even have any homework. i'm in all honors so the teachers don't give much homework expecting us to study independently without homework unlike the standard teachers who don't trust the kids to learn enough on their own and give tons of homework. also, the gt kids aren't given much work either but they are tested on their independent studies almost once every weak.

so, i'm so lucky

I do 2 hours of homework a night, 2 and a half if it's rough. I know someone who does 0-10 minutes, he spends more time avoiding homework than actually doing it.

hmmmm, for me it also seems like i do less homework each year... it's kinda wierd. last year i'd have a few at home things like current events and books that's take a little long but not too long, but now i do one small current event a month for chemistry, which i do the class before it cus i get access to the internet and a printer  , and i have 2 more books to read outside of class this year. hehehehe that reminds me

i just got back my first book report, i'm not sure if ne1 remembers me begging for help cus i didn't even have the book until after it was due, but i got a 193/200!!!!! i read the book in two days and turned the report in about four days late and she forgot to mark it late!!!!! she usually takes off 10 percent each day it's late, but here's what happened:
1- i turned the report in late and she said i'd get at least % 40 off since it's late so whatever, at least i got it in
2- she forgets where she put the classes reports for the end of the quarter so she decided to put the grades in for second quarter, this one now. that let me keep my B on my report card and then i could try harder for now and get another B
3- she puts it in the wrong folder without grading it yet and didn't put the late mark on it
4-about a month later she passes back all the others and i didn't get mine, so i asked her why not and she said i didn't do it, but looks for it and finds it in the folder
5- she grades it right then while i'm at lunch to get it over with forgetting that it's late and is impressed by it, giving me 193. now, i have a sure A right now in her class, about time for midterms  , and she forgot to take off all those points.
I'M SO LUCKY!!!!! i got an A on what should have been at least a D!!!!!

anyway, i have very little homework this year. even less than last year. i did more homework in 6th grade than now. either the school system is getting lazier, i'm just very lucky to get the teachers i do, or i'm just not as slow and stupid as i was and can do what would have seemed like a lot much quicker and easier. the last time i did homework at home was last week on monday, now i do most in class.... \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

HungryMonkey

wait until some of you kids grow up and start doing some hard stuff. then you will not know remember what fresh air feels like. and the sun will hurt your eyes even when its behind clouds.
seriously. edcation is not the way to go. unless you want an early death.
its too much like hard work.

lazy21236
11-12-2003, 06:58 PM
the sun hurts me already, just walking to my trailer for world history hurts my eyes. isn't that pathetic? and i agree that there's more to life than learning things for the first twenty some years of your life that half of which you'll never need to know again. the other half of that is learning to read and write. almost a fifth of your life is spent during school, i don't like it.

on a side note, who else hates waking up so early for school? i need to wake up at 5:30. i think the schools, at least highschools, should be set an hour later. government tests have proven that kids learn much better with that one extra hour of sleep.

skater910
11-28-2003, 04:53 PM
the average, oh, about 4 hours. but, i complete it at about 11:30 and i have to get up at 7:30, and bell rings 8:15. #-o

what is this "sun" you speak of ive been doing so much homework lately that i have forgot what its like to not be doing scholwork for more than 10 min at a time (i agree school should be a hour later but it should also not give homework)

what is this "sun" you speak of

*checks his science homework for some references to "sun" and doesn't find any so dismisses it as a myth*

I get about a hour's worth of homework daily on average, with each project being an additional half hour.

25 pages of what? Depending on what book, 25 pages can be done in virtually no time. Now 25 pages of intense Shakespeare, or even better: greek texts translated into english... fun

That's what most of you have been wanting to hear right? College is a wonderful thing, and I can tell you that I never have HW. I do however have labs. A typical lab write up is about 20-40 pages, and I have two labs a week. Special topics courses can cause quite a bit of needed research, and if I'm expected to make a working model of something (either theoretical or physical) I could be pulling several allnighters. All my math has become easier too! I can't remember the last time a calculation involved numbers in one of my classes! I mean, generally a test will be comprised of no more than four questions that each take up several pages of work, but with all of the hundreds of theories I am expected to know I can easily find several solutions to each problem. Better yet, eventually a whole lot of theory is based off of pigeons and holes! Sounds simple and neat right? So to answer your question, I spend 0 minutes a day doing HW. Of course when you live at school there really isn't any such thing I suppose...
