METAL!
Who likes real metal? Been to any good metal shows recently? Heard any good new albums or found any old gems? Lets talk metal.
I'll start with recommending Atheist to anyone who doesn't already know them, and you should. Seriously. Go listen to this ----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utqWrkVEQvI
Oh yeah, please talk nu-metal crap like Slipknot and Disturbed elsewhere.

Tool is great for being experimental and accessible at the same time. Lateralus has some crazy stuff going on with the Fibonacci sequences in the syallables of each line and the time signatures, it's very cool.
And Painkiller kicks ass. Death did a "killer" (so sorry) cover of it.

Yeah, I really dig Carey's drumming, really sets the mood and goes perfectly with the guitar and bass lines.
Screaming for Vengeance is my favorite Judas Priest album, got a lot of cool songs there.
Also, forgot to mention, Alice Cooper is awesome.

Great 70's style stuff that got overlooked, very low-fi, very awesome. It is tasty 70's doom/proto-power metal like if Black Sabbath played faster and sang about vikings and wizards.

Just saw Opeth with Enslaved last weekend, they both put on a killer show. If they are ever near you, go!
