View Full Version : Susan Boyle
If you haven't already heard about this, it's utterly amazing.
This 47 year old women gets on stage, everyone is laughing and judging her right away (including myself I admit) and then when she starts to sing, everyone's jaw hits the floor and the shit hits the fan.

It brought tears to my eyes and her dance of joy was heart breaking.
Faith in humanity +1
Anyone else find this to be something truly amazing? Old, single and unemployed to famous in less than 7 minutes.

I think it's amazing how quickly we judge a person by their appearance. This woman's voice is talent walking through a golden hallway.
Amazing.
What a great message.
If you are ugly, learn to control your vocal cords and people will love you.

Yes I was pretty shocked too. Well, thats a lie because I missed it on TV and someone told me about it before I watched the video... if only she had been discovered at a younger age.

There is something even more stunning, I wasn't really impressed by the forementioned video. However, what I have here will really make you think about our capabilities.

What an old fart. If she's 47 and never got the chance to sing or even have a meaningful relationship, then that just shows you she doesn't strive to complete anything in her life. The fact that she even got a chance to sing on a widely watched TV show gives the impression of "don't bother doing anything with your life, because the chance will come to you." It's a 1 in a million chance, most lazy people die having accomplished very little.

I think this is all one gigantic PR stunt. An attempt to recreate the "Paul Potts"-Hype (I'm not the only one who keeps thinking of Pol Pot every time I read that name, right?)

So did I. That entire audience wasn't worthy enough for her voice...

Who can blame her? She was bullied constantly as a child, and never really sang out of fear of letting her own mother down. She only attended the show only right after her mother died.
The whole "suck it up and go do something great" mentality rarely worked for delicate people who are often ridicule of their appearance and even their ability. Perhaps maybe she wasn't lazy, but rather shattered of confidence to really do anything meaningful out of fear being emotionally beaten down some more?
The fact that Susan even got on stage showed renewed courage and confidence. It is indeed not her intention to show everybody that being lazy is ok, but rather to show that even the "untouchable" of society can succeed (although in her case, was a few year too long, but why complain?).
If people do see it as "it's okay to be lazy, you'll still be successful" should be taken out and skinned alive. There is more meaning to what Susan did.
