Well, I have a theory, basically passed down from my dad. That music goes in revolutions, and eventually, music will become just as good as Classic Rock. I'm just wondering, how long do you think it'll take for music to come out of it's slump, or, do you think it never will?

Well the underground stuff is good.

Mainstream music is completely controlled by the media... as long as there is puppets like Good Charlotte, Brittney Spears, Nsync. And as long as there is plenty of 13 year olds buying into them mainstream music will suck.

Oh yeah kev im sure you go to alot of clubs at 15.
Downloading music is gonna bring it back up from the ashes and make music a buisness where money is not the only thing that matters anymore. Even though that may never happen.

I'm tired of this crap. People who say that there is no good music now. No, you're just listening to the wrong music. Get your head out of the past, and listen to something good. I think that "Classic Rock" is terrible, anyway. Uninspired lyrics, boring music...
IMHO, of course...

You shouldn't really say music in general sucks today. It's viable to say that most mainstream (by main stream, I actually mean pop, really)music sucks today, but there is still a lot of good music out there and there always has been. I'd say good music will always be around, it just varies whether or not it's popular.

Main stream music sucks today. Are you happy now?
Diamond187
09-13-2003, 08:41 PM
Well, I'm not happy that mainstream music sucks, but otherwise, yeah, I'm doing okay now.

Diamond187

Yes, very happy, it's true. But, not all music today sucks, we've had plenty of good new bands.
kevinok

But not that many are main steam.

09-14-2003, 12:22 AM
Nope, although there are a few good bands who are kinda mainstream but they try to stay out of it, like Pearl Jam.
kevinok

Pearl Jam is main stream. Weezer use to be good but they sort of sold out.

The truth is, mainstream sucks, yeah, i know, everybody does, that's basically the same ####ing point restated tons of times over and over, nobody ever looks at what's wrong with the music today. The way I see it, is that there is no figurehead, or icon, or even style, that is leading the styles and music listeners of today. No body has really done what they've done is such a way that masses of people can not be embarassed to preach about how they love a certain artist or group, or whatever. I think until someone steps up with different ideas and music, everyone will basically run around like a chicken with their head cut off, I guess you could say.

Well in to be popular in todays "music" all you have to have is a hot body and thats it.
