The media has destroyed punk, I am waitinging for the next trend to set in and wipe out Good Charlotte and the other bands who are ruining punk rock music :!:

Good Charlotte should not even be considered punk music. They are the sux0rs. But The Clash and Sex Pistols are some of my all time favorites.

Listen very carefully. Just because there are some utterly crappy bands that call themselves "punk" does not mean that there is no good punk music being made today. It's just not MTV. Thank God.

Try A-F Records. (www.a-frecords.com) They're the label that was created by Anti-Flag, and they have all kinds of amazing punk bands from hardcore to emo to stuff you've never heard before. Check it out if you like punk.

And there is some good punk music being made today... just not what is on the radio or on MTV... Kinda like NOFX and Pennywise and stuff. The bands that not many people have ever heard of.

i never liked punk too much... but comercial punk is the worst thing ever made, its like a an userfree pack of empty minded youth... not a violent blow of rebel breath.

NOFX and Pennywise both suck. As in the chrome off a tailpipe. IMHO, of course.

And Rise Against isn't anything like Rage Against the Machine (or Audioslave, both bands which suck. once again. refer to above example.)

Of course, I'm very picky and oddly chaotic (imagine that) when it comes to music.

Misfits were amazing with Danzig at the lead. Graves is alright, he does good vocals, and American Psycho was a good CD, but he just doesn't do anything for me when compared to Glenn Danzig.

Punk is awesome. im not really into the old stuff too much, but i do listen to them, and respect them for starting this whole thing
Punk will take over the media soon, because if you can remember back a year or so, you can trace the whole evolution
I live down in south FL so i dunno about ure radio, but about a year or probably more ago, there was nothing but rap
then came good charlotte (they suck, but believe it or not, fatty mikey likes em and is makin a punk compilation album with them on it!)-- read his interview(s) in guitar magazine
then came simple plan
then more poppy punk bands
and then some less poppy ones
yesterday i heard bad religion, yellowcard, rancid, and the ramones on the radio
i swear. its insane.
judging from the patterns, punk will take over
then fall back down
anyway. punk is cool

alright well since i made this thread here are some things i need to say.,.....
no punk is not going to come up and yes punk is dying....but its not good charlotte and simple plan and all them taht are killing it....its not the media either....its jus the simple fact taht preppy #####s (excuse the language for all u lil ppl) are thinking that its such a cool thing to be punk adn that when u dress punk u are expressing how u feel......yeah well SCREW U!!!....and also rancid and yellowcard are just as poppy as the rest of those lameass bands.....and when u say the ramones are punk....theyarent punk.....they are jus plane old rock and roll!!! and if u think taht NOFX sucks....U SUCK AHOLE........and punk isnt a "scene"...punk is jus how u feel what u believe and if u truly like the music....i mean u dont have to "dress it".....but if u like hte music go to the shows and shit then yeah ur a punk then ur ok.....and.........for everyone saying that u arent a poser....yeah...my big fat apple ur not a poser.....of course ur posing after someone i mean u cant say who started something no one knows....and yeah u might add ur lil stuff to it but ur still getting the ideas from other people.....alright well i had a lot more to say but idk what happened and a new website came up and deleted all i had to say well that is my two sense and here are some bands i love and if u havent heard htem before....then u should look them up.....

Okay, this is really getting me mad. Did you ever have to claim that you were a human being living on planet earth to be one? No! Therefore, you do not have to claim you are a "punk" band to be a "punk" band. Good Charlotte acts and tries to sound like a punk band, but it doesn't work!!!!!!!!

Couldn't of made a better list. Crass is alright, I guess. They aren't the best. I really like The UnSeen, though. You should look up Leftover crack and Choking Victim. They are the same people. Basically, choking victim broke up and they decided to make a new band without their old guitarist. Still sweet though. They have good songs like 500 Channels, infested, death song, atheist anthem, operation move, and others. They sing about Death, Politics, and how messed up everything is. They're pretty good. Some of their songs are a little bit ska though and I don't like ska but they sound sweet.

To be really honest, I don't care. I don't know what punk is (the definitions and dictionary.com are still the greatest), and I don't care. I like Blink 182 songs, old and new, I like Green Day, I like Linkin Park, I like lots of other things, and couldn't care less whether one is punk or not. Being punk doesn't make your music good or bad.

I like music, not categories or genres.

good point i think ne one whos ever been on mtv sucks(sellouts) its gay how many do it thou. so i dumped all my old rancid cds, and the first eminem cds there gay now the only good singer is insult the comic dog, come poop with me thats funny althou mtv isnt comedy central and no where near as good i still bought that cd.... i havent listened to it yet thou....

So MTV is suddenly the place for bad musicians?! Hmm... I could have sworn they only invite bands that have a semi-large group of fans. I guess Punk has to be unpopular now.

The only reason a punk band, or any band, would be on MTV, is because more than three people like them. And anyone who doesn't drastically change their music style or lets other's write their songs isn't a sell-out.
