I've heard of squirrel nut zippers. I think they played a song called 'Hell' maybe not, I don't know. It was on a mixed disc of mine a long time ago.

Lamb Of God's new upcoming album, Wrath, already sounds kickass from the songs that I've heard from it. They are a pretty good band if you are in to hardcore heavy metal/thrash.
Pantera is also good. Some good soft songs as well as hard heavy songs with mind-blowing guitar riffs and solos to die for.

Well, one of my favorite artists is Slipknot. I was lucky enough to win tickets from a radio station about 5 days ago. I went to their world tour concert in orlando at the ucf arena. It was pretty good, but nothing compared to their older stuff.

Those are definitely sampled keyboards. Not analog synths. :(
EDIT: I listened to another song. It had an analog synth :)
