User Created Maps - Judging Thread

Do to the popularity and just sheer amount of post in the other user maps thread, I am starting this "Map Judging thread". This thread is for high quality maps to be easily looked at and judged - Comments, ratings, and post NOT containing a map image are not allowed here, they will be deleted. Use the other thread for those.

You may post 1 map per month, per user in this thread, all other maps will be disregarded until 30 days after your first map posted in the contest. So make sure you get it right the first time. I suggest posting your map in this thread (http://forums.xgenstudios.com/showthread.php?t=147468) first to get user feedback.

The only posts in this thread that will be accepted and not deleted are posts containing images of a map to be judged. The other thread will stay open for you to get feed back and ratings from other members. You can use that forum to judge weather or not a map is worth posting here. If 5 members give your map a 3/10 rating then please dont bother posting it in this thread.

Make sure you finalize and polish your maps before posting them here as you only get 1 entry per month.

I got a bunch of people to play on it over the past few days. I've sorted out just about all of the issues, including weapon placement. It plays out pretty well in FFA situations, and is AMAZING in a 2v2 setting.
Those areas around the edges with the bridges in the walls (I'll be referring to them as Walkways) are pretty epic points. The fact that they're single-walls (since it's actually "in the wall") makes it a challenging yet fun place to play in, since you have a clear shot from one end of the walkway to the other. The left-middle room is a great place for camping on a 2v2, and killcounts usually reach above 10 in FFAs.
Many people played on it, and almost all of them love it.

Here is my map. Yes, I know it is large, so it is not very good for a 1 v 1. However, I find that it is an exciting free for all map with many different strategies.
Here is a brief description:
In the top left, there are laser turrets, and seats so that they can be manned. The green tiles are supposed to be lasers. The bottom left has a generator room, with cords that lead tot eh bottom right, which is the death star laser. The middle is Darth Vader's chamber, with a screen for taking and issuing commands and his lightsaber. The top middle and top right are supposed to be somewhat of a control room, with plenty of cover that is great for pistol vs. shotgun matches. Finally, the edges of the map are covered in space window tiles to show that it is in space, not in a building.

If you are wondering why I gave this description, it is because many people question what this has to do with the Death Star, and I thought that this might help. Enjoy!

Here is my map:

Time it took to make: 3 days and and editing for about 3 weeks on and off (mostly off :P).

In-game username is: JUSTINBAILEY

Name: Business Devastation (this is what I would like the map to be called), however, in game, the map is called XGEN.HQ.2.

Size: 25 by 25 (if I remember correctly).

I made this map specifically to counter FK's and for very tight balance. As you can see, from each spawn, 2 weapons are easily reachable, and the more powerful weapons are not close to each other. The position of the railgun has an advantage with the small hallway by it, but the advantage is hindered by the lightsaber to the right. The hammer camping room is modified so it is easier to die (2 entrances, fast weapons near it, etc) as well as there is no "hall of death" next to it. In addition, the flamethrower has the advantage of being able to hit anything in its radius (except for the pods and the opening to the right), but is in the middle of the map and may cause the player to get teamed (once again, balance). Lastly, I added a few pods to the map so to give pod users a few pods, but i did not over do it, either.

I hope that you will strongly consider my map to be featured, as I have worked for an extremely long time to perfect this (didn't mean to write a book, sorry). :)

Plasma River is one of the better sewage maps. It has gotten good in-game reviews. It has great playing ability. It may look simple but it is really fun to play in if you want to play in it just pm me, I can't play today though due to lag. I would normally show everyone a video of me playing in plasma river but like I said today I have a bad lag that im working on fixing. I will tell you a little bit about how the map plays; Plasma River is a sniping and cornering map. In the top right corner there is a star shaped thing, it plays just like a pod. It is great to corner in and is the first concrete pod. The top of Plasma River is a great sniping area. It is well-balanced and very fun to play in.

I'll submit this map yet again. It got like no negative feedback, like a lot of 9/10s and up, and it has no tile mistake, artistic, original, countless sniping/cornering spots, enough protection, etc. Need I say more? Well, yeah, if you haven't noticed, my purpose in this map was to unite every single tileset without it looking dumb or unrealistic.

Dimensions:32 tiles left to right, and 27 tiles top to bottom (around same size as XGen HQ, although some people don't believe it).

I hope you take this map into consideration, as it took me two days (~4hrs. per day), plus one hour here and there "polishing" it and making sure it had no tile mistake.

P.S. For the people that didn't already know, for the sewer stairways that end against a wall, you CAN get out, by getting out through the very last step (said it in case people thought that the stairways on both sides of the main entrance were some sort of traps...).

The power source of everything that is put into Stick Arena! This map is featured by an outside entrance into the plant with the main entrance in the middle. There is 2 other entrances to the right and left. The right and left entrances lead to the power generators that you can get to across the small bridges. These places fit for a great sniping and cornering place. In the upper plant is the main control section which also features a couple power generators near it. To the upper left and upper right is where all the power is generated to and then where the power goes out to power Stick Arena. I've had many people play on it and they have found it fun for 2v2s and ffa's, because it contains everything a Stick Arena player looks forward to like cornering, sniping, and camping.

Here's my map i'd like to have entered in for this month. My username is WarJag and the map is called Venice.Streets. (Venice Streets is the desired name) From its good cornering places to the tighter areas, its a pretty enjoyable map for all. Since many people like podz, I decided to make them sort of connect the map together. This map is supposed to be based off of Italy's famous city Venice where a bunch of water canals flow through its heart. Averaging a decent amount of kills per game, this map is also pretty fun to play in. Thanks for taking the time to look at it and also XFactor for the screen. Also credit to Dan for suggesting to put some buildings along side the canal.

Explanation:

This map is set up with eight sniping spots (north, south, east, west, NW, NE, SW, SE), eight pillars for protection and cornering, a standard sized base in the center for camping, and many obstacles set throughout the map. This map was specifically made for pro FFA games, and to train in things such as sniping, cornering, and agility when it comes to moving through obstacles. This map was originally made for a 1 year lab pass contest, which was cancelled due to the host getting banned, so I decided to enter it into the Judging Thread.
