Actually, Coolio, if you try to get a rocket through a wall, you'll end up blowing yourself up. If you try it with a rifle, the bullet will go through half of the wall, and hit the other outer half. However, after you shot that small hole, you can easily shoot through the wall. Just watch out when a person tries to throw a grenade and the grenade lands close to the wall, it will hurt you.

you never specified what weapon, which is why i mentioned rocket.

also, i tried that and it only shot through HALF the wall. So it depends on the wall. If you mean the thin walls like in Castle, then yes, it will probably work. if you mean one of those buildable red walls, no. it doesn't.

It's true: if you shoot in a straight line, then it'll go through.
