Desperation

This may have needed to be in homework, but...you know what...it's kinda wrecking my nerves...and you know what that means? Madness.
I, for one, hate trying to think of things to write about. But I need to write a personal piece (short story, poem, or personal narrative) in less then 24 hours. Every time I start to write something I wad the paper up because lack of interest.
You're mission, help me by giving me ideas to write about.
You're reward, a chance to read what may or may not be the worst thing you'll ever set your eyes upon.

edit: I'm writing a satire about anarchy... so far it's uncrappy. This thread has now become about writing strategies to continue to make my story uncrap.

Write a story, that at first seems to follow the point, and then go off into your own little topic.
I've done that through English class all of my life and never had a problem getting high marks. =P

Had any spiritual struggles? Did anything you later regretted? Made a major decision?

Think of the stuff that's influenced who you are, for better or for worse.

Just do it. Ad-lib; without preparation, or thinking. Make it up as you go along.

Make an outline for what you want your storyline to be. This is your structure, the bones of your story. Then, add the meat and blood with interesting word choices, flowing sentences, good transitions, etc.

This is the basic idea behind the admission's essay I wrote for my highschool last year, and received a 15 thousand dollar merit scholarship for.

Just let your imagination flow. It can be hard trying to start something you don't have interest in, so try writing about a topic you like doing. And remember: "You're" is short for
"you are".
