In April, our plan's contract runs out and I can get a new phone. I'm not sure which one to get. So what do you guys think?
Phones should have a QWERTY keyboard or a good touch screen keyboard and must be on Verizon.
Phones I'm thinking about getting:
Samsung Glyde (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=3727)
LG Env 2 (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=3725)
LG Voyager (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=4069)

Voyager is much better than the other two.
The glyde's sliding hinges are extremely weak and is very easy to break, the enV 2's small front screen is extremely annoying and the qwerty keyboard buttons are tiny.

In six months there will probably be better phones. Just wait for a while.

And six months after that, there will be even better phones. They just keep on getting better. Anyway, Sony Ericsson's newest phone seems pretty good. I have been using one of their older models(w580i) for just over a year and they are great quality.

I'm with Justin as far as minimalism goes.
I have a Samsung SCH-u740 with Verizon. It's good. The hinge is sturdier than it looks, you have to be an idiot to break it. It's probably the smallest phone with a QWERTY keyboard. That's about it.

I think you missed the fact that he will not be getting a new phone until April.

My only other requirement is one that can play MP3s off some memory stick as that reduces the gadgets I carry around by one (... from two to one, to be exact >_>).

That's fair, if you actually carry an mp3 player routinely.

Pigeons are obviously the way to go.

I used to be a big nokia fan myself, now I swear by HTC pda's, I just lurve having windows mobile on my phone. I have a slide out qwerty keyboard and a full screen view of IE, perfect for checking out my eBay sales.... it has windows media for viewing clips and listening to my tunes.... plus free software add on's. Nokia? pfft!

shoulda asked my dad to get me one when he was in NY but he goes there too much so maybe next time
its a nice phone not many people have it
Get the one that looks the coolest, and the most expensive. Be sure that it's extremely fragile.

Voyager is much better than the other two.
The glyde's sliding hinges are extremely weak and is very easy to break, the enV 2's small front screen is extremely annoying and the qwerty keyboard buttons are tiny.
The Voyager's touchscreen sucks and is awkward. The buttons on the screen are too small and it forces you (Well, me at least) to push the buttons with your pinky. That, and the screen isn't of the best quality. My friend has had 2 Voyagers and both of the screens broke. At least they were BOTH under the warrenty.
The Glyde is of a much higher quality than you give it. It felt sturdy in my hand and that it wasn't going to break. That, and the touchscreen is fantastic, the keyboard is nice, and it is loaded with features that other phones lack.
Then use the internal screen for the enV 2. It isn't THAT difficult or cumbersome to open up the phone and use it that way. And, the keys on it are not too small. The keys on it are larger than the keys on the original enV, and that works for me fine.
Personally, I think it's your call and you should go on what you think is best. I would go for the enV 2 because it is the cheapest and it serves my needs. That, and it's pretty durable and it has quite a few features. And, with the extra money you saved, subscribe to Rhapsody so you can download an assload of music to your phone for cheap.
