A post put up in the Cinderfall forum mocking people who post angry and unintelligent gibberish prompted this as some people accused him of spamming. This isn't a question for a moderator, it's just a poll to see what most people think constitutes spam and whether witty banter is appreciated.

Spam isn't funny.

it definitely depends on the quality of the humor. Because if it doesnt have that, then its spam all the way

It has nothing to do with the quality of the humor. This changes from person to person. The person posting it thinks its funny, anyway.

I think it's only spam if it has a point. Whether it does or not is up to the mods, which is why they are here.

Also, while we're on the subject, any link to a private site IS SPAM! k? It is advertising, and that is the original meaning of spam. Almost every forum with a defined set of rules has one against posting any links. They are very tolerant here, so please do not ruin it by posting your site or your friend's site.

I have been asking to make that a rule.

Rambo

if that was a rule, so many people would be banned that the forums would be empty

Well is that a bad thing.

well technically yes. The point of a forum is to POST. If everyone is banned then how are you going to raise your post count?

um, use a library computer!

thats not what i mean. if all but a few people were banned, then you would have to resort to spamming to raise your post count

there is no space between the Rambodike and the 23! i may not be a great poster, but as far as spam goes, InsaneFootman has me beat by a mile
