I'm guessing if he's 14 and doesn't know what they are, he doesn't have crabs.
It happens to every guy, especially if the hair is new. You'll get use to it eventually, just make sure to shower every day and wash thoroughly.

Uh...don't use soap. You don't want the rest of whoever uses that bathroom to be rubbing they're body with something you slathered down there, do you?

Never never
Never shave it to cut down on itching.

If you get in a habit of shaving or trimming every week or so, it will really cut down on the itching. Also, use shampoo, but not 2-in-1 or conditioner, as that will increase itching.

Yeah, I hear girls like seeing afro man when they take off a guys pants.
How the hell does a 14 year old not know what crabs are?
Anyway, just stay away from tight underwear. Stay loose.
Also moon, who the hell told you shaving cuts down on itching? It dosent.

I'd suggest baby powder regularly and bathing/scrubbing it daily.

You obviously do though.
And I think that shaving does make it itch less.

I shave regularly, I find it more comfortable. I only had an itching problem when I went for 2 weeks without shaving them - then it started to itch.

I do every once in a while. But what really helps that is making sure you are using a sharp razor.
